PolyBacTex - Umwandlung gemischter Textilabfälle in Recyclingfasern und Zellulose für eine nachhaltige Produktion
Das Projekt PolyBacTex entwickelt eine Lösung zum Recycling von Mischtextilien, indem die einzelnen Fasertypen (Cellulose und Polyester) chemisch getrennt und biotechnologisch aufgewertet werden. Dadurch können Cellulose-Fasern rückgewonnen und zurück in den Prozess der Faserherstellung gebracht werden.
ÖGUT Umweltpreis 2024 verliehen
In der Kategorie "Klimaneutrale Stadt" gewinnt das "Umsetzungsprogramm Raus aus Gas" der Stadt Wien. Das Projekt Timberloop von der Holzforschung Austria erzielt den ersten Platz in der Kategorie "Mit Forschung & Innovation zur Kreislaufwirtschaft". Lisa Gabriela Bayer (Borealis AG) und Eva Lems (Büro für Energie- und Umweltfragen) freuen sich über die Auszeichnung in der Kategorie "Frauen* in der Umwelttechnik". Die Baupiloten Innsbruck OG mit dem „Beteiligungsprozess Mittelschule Mieming" und die Fairkehrswende Wien mit „Wir machen Wien" gewinnen in der Kategorie Partizipation. Das Stadt der Zukunft-Projekt GLASGrün erhielt den Sonderpreis des Magazins BUSINESSART. Das BMK unterstützte vier Kategorien und sponserte die Preisgelder.
Ausschreibung zum ÖGUT-Umweltpreis geöffnet!
Das BMIMI unterstützt drei Kategorien: "Klimaneutrale Stadt", "Mit Forschung & Innovation zur Kreislaufwirtschaft" und "Frauen in der Umwelttechnik". Das Preisgeld beträgt insgesamt EUR 40.000, Einreichschluss ist der 15. September 2025.

SmallWindPower@Home - Impact assessment of building-mounted small wind turbines on performance, people, building and environment
Within the project SmallWindPower@Home the impact of complex obstacles on the local flow pattern as well as on the inflow and the performance of different building-mounted small wind turbines (SWT) had been evaluated. Furthermore the effects of these building-mounted SWT on the building, the resident people and the direct environment were analysed.
SmallWindPower@Home - Evaluierung der Auswirkungen von gebäudemontierten Kleinwindenergieanlagen auf Performance, Personen, Gebäude und Umgebung
Im Projekt „SmallWindPower@Home“ erfolgte eine messtechnische Evaluierung der Auswirkungen von komplexen Hindernissen auf die Anströmung und Performance unterschiedlicher gebäudemontierter Kleinwindenergieanlagen (KWEA). Darüber hinaus wurden deren Auswirkungen auf das Gebäude, dessen Bewohner und die unmittelbare Umgebung untersucht.
EnergyCityConcepts (ECC) - Methoden- und Konzeptentwicklung zur Implementierung nachhaltiger Energiesysteme in Städten am Beispiel von Gleisdorf und Salzburg
Im gegenständlichen Projektvorhaben werden anhand zweier konkreter Modellregionen (Kleinstadt Gleisdorf und urbanes Stadtquartier Salzburg-Schallmoos) neue methodische Herangehensweisen (interdisziplinäre Energieraumplanung, Modellbildung und Simulation) entwickelt und erprobt. Die beiden Modellregionen verbindet dabei das ambitionierte politische Bekenntnis zu einer 100 % erneuerbaren bzw. CO2-neutralen Energieversorgung.
ECC – EnergyCityConcepts – Development of a methodology and concept for the implementation of sustainable energy systems in cities by the example of Gleisdorf and Salzburg
In the context of this project two concrete model regions (small city Gleisdorf and urban city quarter Salzburg-Schallmoos) will be developed and tested with new methodical approaches (interdisciplinary urban and regional energy planning, modeling and simulation). An ambitious political commitment of both model regions is a 100% renewable or rather CO2-neutral energy supply.
Green and Resilient City - Management and planning tools for a climate-sensitive urban development
The aim of the project was to provide a "proof of concept" of a control loop and tool set for the management, optimization and evaluation of green and climate-sensitive urban (district) planning- The tool set consist of urban and open space planning instruments as well as climate simulations at different scale levels.

Der Smart City Award – ein Online-Wettbewerb auf Initiative des Klima- und Energiefonds – bietet eine Plattform zur Einreichung von Ideen und Umsetzungen, wie Österreichs Städte lebenswerter und nachhaltiger gestaltet werden können. 2018 steht der Award unter dem Motto "Moving the City".

Topics such as generation living, teleworking as well as smart homes are developed in an integrated model, for dense structures as well as pavillons and townhouses. All models follow the three pillars of sustainability.
