Klosterneuburg ist zwischen Wienerwald und Donauauen gelegen, eine Stadt mit hohem Anteil an Grün- und Erholungsraum bei gleichzeitiger Nähe zu Wien. Mit dieser Lage bietet Klosterneuburg ein interessantes Fallbeispiel zur Erforschung von Klimaneutralität – insbesondere in den Bereichen CO₂-emissionsfreier Pendlerverkehr, klimafreundliche Dienstleistungen und CO₂-Speicherung durch Forstwirtschaft.
Ternitz 2040 – Ternitz mit Klimaneutralitätsfahrplan nachhaltig gestalten
Die Stadt Ternitz ist seit 1991 Klimabündnisgemeinde, seit 2010/2011 Teil der KEM-Region Schwarzatal, seit 2011 e5-Gemeinde (mit 4e) und wurde 2023 in der LEADER-Region NÖ-Süd zur "Energie.Vorbild.Gemeinde" ernannt. Zentrale Themenfelder sind der Ausbau der Photovoltaik, die Förderung des Rad- und öffentlichen Verkehrs sowie der eMobilität, Energieeffizienz im öffentlichen Bereich, die Nutzung industrieller Synergien und energieeffiziente Gebäudekonzepte im Wohnbau.

Feldkirch hat bereits wichtige Maßnahmen im Bereich Klimaschutz und Energiewende gesetzt. Die Stadt ist Mitglied in einer KEM und KLAR Region und seit 2005 e5-Gemeinde.

Die Marktgemeinde Altmünster ist eine der ersten Klimabündnisgemeinden Oberösterreichs, langjähriges Mitglied in der Klima- und Energiemodellregion Traunsteinregion (KEM) und möchte nun als eine der ersten Gemeinden Oberösterreichs eine kommunale Klimastrategie mit klaren Handlungsoptionen entwickeln.

Die Klimaneutralität wurde bisher jedoch nur am Rande behandelt und es fehlt eine strategische Ausrichtung in der Klimapolitik.
Stärken und Schwächen des österreichischen Bausektors in Bezug auf die New European Bauhaus Initiative
Mit der Initiative Bauhaus sollen Architekt:innen, Planer:innen, Designer:innen, Forscher:innen, Unternehmen, Student:innen und Interessierte dazu motiviert werden, gemeinsam eine österreichische Perspektive für das New European Bauhaus (NEB) zu entwickeln und zu gestalten. Die Studie zeigt österreichische Beispiele und Baukonzepte auf. Im Zuge einer Expert:innenen-Befragung wurden Potentiale, die der Idee des New European Bauhaus entsprechen, ausgearbeitet.

The project "Linz with Ambitio3xn" supports the city of Linz in becoming climate neutral by 2040. Contributing to this ambitious goal requires aligning urban planning instruments with urban climate mitigation and decarbonizing existing gas infrastructure in the Franckviertel neighborhood. In the project, standards for net zero non-profit housing will be tested in practice and shared learning are promoted.

The city of Deutschlandsberg has set itself the goal of becoming climate-neutral by 2040 and is developing a climate neutrality roadmap to ensure climate-resilient urban development. This plan is also intended to combine the expected population growth, due to the commissioning of the Koralm railway at the end of 2025, while maintaining a high quality of life.
