The main goal was to raise awareness for energetic renovations of settlement houses due to the handbook "Neue Standards für alte Häuser" in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. In doing so, the refurbishment potential has been identified in the target countries, experiences exchanged and information transferred. Contacts to the relevant target groups have been established.

This project aimed at contributing to "Replicable refurbishment concepts for meeting passive house (or comparable) standard in buildings of all building periods".

Programme Evaluation of "City of Tomorrow" 2013 - 2021

This evaluation examined the effects that the "City of Tomorrow" programme has achieved since its inception. The evaluation is based on extensive surveys of research project participants and various multipliers from application areas such as civil engineering and urban planning. The evaluation thereby creates an important basis for the design of future research funding.

Building and modernising with "Building of Tomorrow"

The project BauModern turned to non-profit and commercial housing developers and real estate managements. In close co-operation with the federations of the housing and real estate economy has been achieved that builders are informed about market-suited innovative technologies and concepts and use these strengthened for their projects both in the new building and in the refurbishment.

The aim of the exploration-study for the urban region Bruck/Oberaich "Energieschwamm Bruck" or "Energy-Sponge-Bruck" was to establish clear and stringent basics for a flexible development of the future energy system. Therefore an energy development concept as well as a cadaster for short-term implementation measures had been applied. The structured, Bruck-based approach acts as framework for a general energy-conception-method, valid for small and medium urban regions with 10,000 to 20,000 inhabitants.

Innovative moth-protection system for sheepwool insulation

This project developed a novel "bio-pesticide"-formula by screening plant extracts and minerals for their strong repellant activity in order to protect sheepwool insulation from cloth moth infestation. It was investigated and examined by state-of-the-art-technology that the anti-moth-mixture extracted from plants and minerals, acts as a valid alternative to existing pest control agents.

The project aim is the clarification and PR-reevaluation of the thematic field "energy/energy saving" as a chance to study users and market forces close and factual to have a secure base for the development of new concepts, slogans and incentives in Austria.

WHISCERS. Whole House In-Situ Carbon & Emission Reduction Solution

Whiscers is a system for installing internal wall insulation with minimal mess, whilst the resident remains in the property. It involves measuring the walls in the property using a laser device that enables fast and highly accurate measurement. Information is then sent electronically to a computer controlled off-site cutting machine that is rapid, precise and mess-free.
