This project result will provide Austria with a uniform software environment for the simulation of thermo-active building systems in the form of a validated tool.
Comfort and cost optimised air guiding concept for energy efficient housing
Ventilation systems for dwellings can be more efficient in terms of cost and energy, if the air guiding concept with cascade principle (overflow of air from sleeping rooms into living room). In this project, the planning principles had been developed and published in practice guidelines.
Ecological restoration of a listed building with passive house technologies
Ecological exemplary reconstruction of the "Haidenhof"-building, Bad Ischl, Upper Austria. Building refurbishment with respect to monumental protection and newest passive house technologies. Reorganisation of the former residential building to an academy of arts and culture.
Strat-CON - Strategic Actions for Realising the Vision of ICT in Construction
Refinement and validation of the implementation proposals in order to achieve the realisation of the ROADCON vision and roadmap for ICT in construction by means of stakeholder-workshops, structured interviews and questionnaires.
Energy package Kolpinghaus / Eco-Suite Hotel
The Kolping association’s dormitory for pupils and students has been extended. The energy demand of the newly constructed Eco-Suite Hotel is minimized by use of highly efficient components (such as LED lighting). Locally available energy sources (waste water heat and sunlight) are used and an on-site energy system is being created for the use of the heat energy surplus. Guests at Eco-Suite Hotel can experience life in a plus energy building.
Plus energy office building - Subproject 3: Austria's biggest plus energy office building
In course of the refurbishment of the Vienna University of Technology (Univercity 2015) Austria´s biggest plus energy office building is going to be built. This project intends to demonstrate not only the technical but furthermore the economical feasibility of plus energy office buildings. Within this building the plus energy concept is fulfilled by optimizing the power consumption of the whole building and the installation of Austria´s largest facade integrated photovoltaic plant.
Forum: Deep Energy Retrofit of Buildings - Technical and Business Strategies
15. - 16. September 2016
National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (2101 Constitution Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C., US
Formal presentations by international experts will be complemented by moderated formal and informal discussions, networking and technical exhibits demonstrating the state-of-the-art technologies and best practices used in Deep Energy Retrofit projects.
Third International Symposium on Life-Cycle Civil Engineering (IALCCE 2012)
3. - 6. Oct 2012
Hofburg Palace
Vienna, AT
The mission of IALCCE 2012 is to bring together all cutting edge research in the field of Life-Cycle Civil Engineering and so to advance both the state-of-the-art and state-of-practice in the field.
PV-Arc Detection - Circuit supervision using DC-Arc Detection in PV systems on dwellings.
It was the aim of this project to make a technology leap in the safe and realistic detection of DC arcs. In reality the variety of conditions of ignition is huge and therefore not covered by the standards and most available products. The focus of this project was the research of conditions of ignition, to derive new detection methods based on the outcomes.
Smart Services for resource optimized energy systems in urban districts
The concept of a smart city explicitly refers to a sustainable city development. To apply smart city concepts in practice, it is essential to develop practice- and profit-oriented business models (smart services), which at the same time generate social and ecological benefits. Smart services were developed for the application in three specific city development areas and their practicability was verified in a comprehensive stakeholder process with decision makers.
Strategy development for (technical / economical feasibility of) energy autarcic buildings
Development of a strategy for energy autarcic buildings with appropriate Technology solutions.
Urban consolidation Lehen - Subproject 3: Demonstration project - intelligent e-monitoring
The aim of the project was the implementation of an innovative energy consumption monitoring concept with the active integration of the residents and a study of the resulting effects on the energy consumption behaviour.
Construction Site SCHOOL - Sustainable Models for the Refurbishment of School Buildings?
In this research project, models for refurbishment and restructuring of school buildings were developed. The reconstruction concepts contain lists of measures for deploying sustainable building techniques and exemplary case studies for the reorganisation of buildings of different typologies.
ThinkHome: Improved energy efficiency based on artificial intelligence in future homes
ThinkHome is a networked controlled home of the future with the ultimate goal to optimise energy efficiency and user comfort at the same time. On this way, smart interaction between all building services is of utmost importance. Goals of this project include the definition of a comprehensive knowledge base that holds all relevant building data, the evaluation of control strategies based on artificial intelligence and machine learning, as well as agent based software engineering.
DAKTRis - Dynamic operational behaviour of absorption chillers in Trigeneration Systems
In the present project an absorption chiller will be adapted to meet the specific requirements necessary to integrate it with the CHP unit. By means of hardware-in-the-loop measurements and dynamic system simulations, different system configurations and control strategies will be analysed under dynamic boundary conditions, optimized and evaluated.
Oekosan'11 - International symposium for high-quality retrofit of large-volume buildings to plus-energy-buildings
The AEE INTEC organized the international congress "ökosan'11 - high-quality retrofit of large-volume buildings to plus-energy-buildings" in September 2011. The position of Austrian companies in international cooperation was strengthened through personal contacts during the conference.
Energy efficient, resource conserving and differentiated renovation of historic European building stocks (ReCoRe)
The project goal was the development of an integrated, long term and life cycle oriented approach to sustainable modernisation of historical building stocks. Within this project the partners used common objectives and planning tools and followed a common procedure in order to develop a specific national application which results from a historical, technical, social and cultural understanding of the specific national stock fragments.
Innovation & Cost efficiency: Building standards for multi family residential buildings at optimal cost (Inno-Cost)
In this project, innovative building standards were examined concerning their economical aspects through the life cycle of a building. By means of life cycle-costs for 40-50 multi family lowest energy and passive house residential buildings on actual data from the day-to-day operation, reliable data and know-how was compiled for the first time, which is to support further market penetration of innovative building standards in the field of multi family residential buildings.
