The main goal was to establish a long-term cooperation for "Solar Cooling" between the Austria Solar Innovation Center (ASiC) and the Center for Sustainable Energy Systems (CSES) at the renowned Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra. The EPBD recast 2010 targeted "nearly zero energy buildings". This low amount of energy is to be covered by energy from renewable energy sources. This project developed a novel "bio-pesticide"-formula by screening plant extracts and minerals for their strong repellant activity in order to protect sheepwool insulation from cloth moth infestation. It was investigated and examined by state-of-the-art-technology that the anti-moth-mixture extracted from plants and minerals, acts as a valid alternative to existing pest control agents.

High-performance insulating plaster systems represent an important option toward improving the thermal insulation of historic buildings without changing their physical appearance. The high-performance aerogel insulation plaster has recently become available for deployment. In this context, the present will explore final stucco systems suitable for building with structured surfaces.
