Oekosan'11 - International symposium for high-quality retrofit of large-volume buildings to plus-energy-buildings
The AEE INTEC organized the international congress "ökosan'11 - high-quality retrofit of large-volume buildings to plus-energy-buildings" in September 2011. The position of Austrian companies in international cooperation was strengthened through personal contacts during the conference.
Energy efficient, resource conserving and differentiated renovation of historic European building stocks (ReCoRe)
The project goal was the development of an integrated, long term and life cycle oriented approach to sustainable modernisation of historical building stocks. Within this project the partners used common objectives and planning tools and followed a common procedure in order to develop a specific national application which results from a historical, technical, social and cultural understanding of the specific national stock fragments.
"gugler! build & print triple zero" - subproject 5: Ecoeffective building
On the basis of the commercial building gugler with 2140 m² useable floor area existing and 3260 m² useable floor area to be built a concept for a 100% recyclable ecoeffective building will be developed.

"gugler! build & print triple zero" - subproject 1: lead project management
The lead project management provides furthermore for sufficient interlinking between the project partners by monthly, by requirement weekly project workshops. Besides the leading project management represents the project gugler to the outward and takes part in workshops of the program management
"gugler! build & print triple zero" - subproject 3: recyclable constructing
Development of basic principles and proposals for highly recyclable constructions. A catalogue with main principles of recyclable designing with a particular focus on material inherent bonding and joint techniques as well as a selection of constructions including ecological benchmarks, calculation of building physics plus costs was created.

PESI - Paradigm shift in urban energy systems through synergies with industry
Analysis of different options for the use of industrial surplus energies of various shapes (waste heat, waste water, waste) and renewable energy sources in the industrial sector (e.g. solar panels on roof surfaces) in adjacent urban areas, which act as an "energy sponge". Based on real consumption and availability data, a simulation model was created and opportunities for synergies were documented.
PEAR – Test facility for energy efficient automation and control of buildings
The energy demand calculated in the design phase often differs from measured values in the actual building operation. This projects reviews building automation and operation by presenting a solution how to assess energy efficiency of control strategies in the fields of air conditioning systems, concrete core activation and free cooling. The results are implemented in the demonstration building "Post am Rochus".
Thermo-Active Building Systems - Development of a Calculation kernel (TBA-CALC )
This project result will provide Austria with a uniform software environment for the simulation of thermo-active building systems in the form of a validated tool.
Comfort and cost optimised air guiding concept for energy efficient housing
Ventilation systems for dwellings can be more efficient in terms of cost and energy, if the air guiding concept with cascade principle (overflow of air from sleeping rooms into living room). In this project, the planning principles had been developed and published in practice guidelines.
Ecological restoration of a listed building with passive house technologies
Ecological exemplary reconstruction of the "Haidenhof"-building, Bad Ischl, Upper Austria. Building refurbishment with respect to monumental protection and newest passive house technologies. Reorganisation of the former residential building to an academy of arts and culture.
SpeedReg - Prompt quality assurance of the commissioning process of buildings
The focus of the project is on quality assurance within the commissioning process with the aim to speed up and to improve the operational adjustment of newly constructed or comprehensively renovated buildings. The fragmented know-how which is hardly accessible for the relevant target groups will be consolidated and elaborated in the form of a practice guideline which will be directly applicable in commissioning processes in practice. In this way the project contributes to the development of a common, well-established standard for quality assurance within the commissioning of buildings.
Urban consolidation Lehen - Subproject 2: Development - intelligent E-Monitoring
In the oppositional subproject 2 technical and organisational requirements for the transformation of the innovative Smart Metering-concept will be developed. Through the connection of the application of Smart Metering with an active integration of the inhabitants over mutual communication the concept, which is planned for the key project Urban Consolidation Lehen stands out of other comparable antedated activities.
SchulRen+ Innovative plus-energy refurbishment concepts for school buildings
In a technical feasibility study and based on a real example, the project analysed innovative plus-energy refurbishment concepts for school buildings. The goal was to develop refurbishment concepts with a high replication potential which combine future-oriented energy concepts with feasible technical and architectural solutions.
