SpeedReg - Prompt quality assurance of the commissioning process of buildings
The focus of the project is on quality assurance within the commissioning process with the aim to speed up and to improve the operational adjustment of newly constructed or comprehensively renovated buildings. The fragmented know-how which is hardly accessible for the relevant target groups will be consolidated and elaborated in the form of a practice guideline which will be directly applicable in commissioning processes in practice. In this way the project contributes to the development of a common, well-established standard for quality assurance within the commissioning of buildings.

A individual company and process evaluation defines the tools-mix of sustainable orientated management methods implemented in the companies. The well know in Instrument Prepare will be further developed adding the innovation strategy TRIZ "systematic inventing", making the new Prepare plus instrument.
Urban consolidation Lehen - Subproject 2: Development - intelligent E-Monitoring
In the oppositional subproject 2 technical and organisational requirements for the transformation of the innovative Smart Metering-concept will be developed. Through the connection of the application of Smart Metering with an active integration of the inhabitants over mutual communication the concept, which is planned for the key project Urban Consolidation Lehen stands out of other comparable antedated activities.

ZERMEG II - Zero emission retrofitting method for existing galvanising plants
ZERMEG II is the follow up project of ZERMEG, which was commissioned after the first call of the Austrian Factory of the Future program in 2001. The project developed a method to revamp existing galvanising plants in order to operate them with a maximum reduction of the use of chemicals and maximum recycling.

In a technical feasibility study and based on a real example, the project analysed innovative plus-energy refurbishment concepts for school buildings. In this research project, models for refurbishment and restructuring of school buildings were developed. The reconstruction concepts contain lists of measures for deploying sustainable building techniques and exemplary case studies for the reorganisation of buildings of different typologies.
PV-Arc Detection - Circuit supervision using DC-Arc Detection in PV systems on dwellings.
It was the aim of this project to make a technology leap in the safe and realistic detection of DC arcs. In reality the variety of conditions of ignition is huge and therefore not covered by the standards and most available products. The focus of this project was the research of conditions of ignition, to derive new detection methods based on the outcomes.

The concept of a smart city explicitly refers to a sustainable city development. To apply smart city concepts in practice, it is essential to develop practice- and profit-oriented business models (smart services), which at the same time generate social and ecological benefits.
