Climate neutral buildings from the period of promoterism - ways, potentials and possibilities of implementation

The focus was on the goal-oriented and economic options, in order to achieve a CO2-neutral energy supply and hermetically sealed building envelope as well as to show high energy efficiency when using. On the other hand building protection regulations and the quality in use are to be considered.

Urban consolidation Lehen - Subproject 8a: project management - documentation - dissemination and quality assurance

The project coordinates several projects in the urban quarter Lehen to ensure increase of energy efficiency and sustainable development. This subproject contains the coordination of the partners and projects in order to reach defined standards of quality, coordination and cooperation with the program "Building of Tomorrow" and other flagship projects as well as the documentation of results.

Print and media production at the media and communications company gugler GmbH are currently being optimized according to Cradle to Cradle (C2C) criteria. The goal of this subproject is to allow the demands of a C2C production process optimized for exchange with biological cycles to be included into the general planning of the new production building of the company, a pilot project within the "building of tomorrow" program line.

Preparing the results of the "Building of Tomorrow" program for energy counsellors by elaborating a material collection and integrating it into the basic education of energy counsellors. Furthermore a one-day training course for already active energy counsellors will be designed and held.

The project objective is the measurement of relevant building values (energy consumption, ...), the evaluation of these values compared with the intended objectives and the optimization of the system based on the measured data. As a special innovation, monitoring the storage of alternatively generated electricity using photovoltaic and wind energy in the form of compressed air must be considered.

Ziel des Projektes ist das Messen von relevanten Gebäudewerten (Energieverbrauch, ...), die Evaluierung dieser Werte im Vergleich mit den angestrebten Zielen und die Optimierung der Anlage aufbauend auf den gemessenen Daten. Als besondere Innovation ist die Begleitung der Speicherung von alternativ erzeugtem Strom mittels Photovoltaik und Windenergie in Form von Druckluft anzusehen.

Produkt- und Systementwicklung zur thermischen Sanierung von Altbauten durch den Einsatz von magnesitgebundenen Holzwolleleichtbauplatten

Ziel dieses Projektes ist die Überprüfung der Wirksamkeit der magnesitgebundenen Holzwolleleichtbauplatte zur Innendämmung bei der Altbausanierung bzw. das Aufzeigen von Ansatzpunkten für die Weiterentwicklung von Produkten in diesem Einsatzbereich. Dabei werden - parallel in theoretischen Rechenmodellen und in Feldversuchen - ein entsprechendes Klima im Innenraum erzeugend die Auswirk- ungen auf die Behaglichkeit und auf die bestehende Bausubstanz untersucht. Des- weiteren wird eine Beurteilung der Nachhaltigkeit durchgeführt.

Product and system development for an inside thermal insulation construction of historical houses using magnesite bonded wood wool panels

The objective of this project is to examine the ability of magnesite bonded wood wool panels as an inside thermal insulation system, especially for houses with historical facades and to acquire starting points for further development of the products and components being used. Parallel to the data which will be calculated in a theoretical FEM-model, a field trial will be carried out to prove the influence on the inside room climate. In addition the sustainability of the system will be analysed.

Entwicklung von Ansätzen, die dazu führen, dass Rahmenbeding­ungen bei Generalsanierungen in BIG-Gebäuden die Umsetzung hoher Energieeffizienz- und Nachhaltigkeitsstandards unterstützen. Damit soll sichergestellt werden, dass hochwertige Modernisierungen im BIG-Gebäudebestand zum Standard werden können.

Demonstration of feasibility of renovation of an official building in high thermal and energetical quality and consideration of further sustainable criteria.

Refurbishment of an existing villa of the "Gründerzeit" to passive house standard with passive and active solar use

The project shows in an exemplary way how buildings of the time of "Gründerzeit" could be maintained and could offer a better environmental balance including the view of the village and the traffic than a new building. As an example a villa has been converted into a multi-family house within a larger housing project.

Neue Standards für alte Häuser, Nachhaltige Sanierungskonzepte für Einfamilienhaus-Siedlungen der Zwischen- und Nachkriegszeit

Ausgangslage für das Forschungsprojekt sind die in den wirtschaftlichen Krisenzeiten der Zwischen- und Nachkriegszeit in Österreich im Rahmen von öffentlich geförderten Siedlungsprogrammen zahlreich entstandenen Einfamilienhaussiedlungen. Das Forschungsprojekte hat zum Ziel einen umfassenden Leitfaden und Planungsgrundlagen für die Sanierung dieser Einfamilienhaussiedlungen anzubieten, wodurch der Standard eines Niedrigenergiehauses oder Passivhauses zu erreichen wäre.
