e80^3-Buildings - Sub project 5: Monitoring and dissemination
The content of subproject 5 was the analysis of energy- as well as building-biology-related issues for the evaluation and quality management of the demo-project in Kapfenberg, which involves a high-quality refurbishment to a plus energy house within the program "Haus der Zukunft - Building of Tomorrow". Within this process the user acceptance before, during and after the renovation was elevated and this will be processed for upcoming projects. The environmental quality of the building regarding the choice of materials and measures during the construction phase and the subsequent use of the building was assessed with the help of the TQB-planning and evaluation tool.

THERM-opti-BALCONY: Thermal Optimized Renovation of Balconies
Pre-cast cantilever balconies represent a particular problem in the thermal renovation of buildings. The central goal of this project is the development of practical and cost-effective mounting solutions for the thermally decoupled reconstruction of balconies on building frontages and achieving a significant increase in the energy performance of the thermal renovation measure.

To meet the special requirements for the refurbishment of timber constructions, a concept for the renovation to passive house respectively plus-energy house standard with special focus on ecologic construction materials was developed in this project.

Services for a comprehensive ecological renovation should comprise advice, design and construction as well as "green" building assessment and innovative financing models. Such services are developed together with companies in the construction business and tested in pilot projects.

Subprojekt 11 ist Teil des Leitprojekts BIGMODERN und verfolgt das Ziel, die Leitprojektergebnisse umfassend und zielgerichtet zu verbreiten. Dabei werden unterschiedliche Zielgruppen angesprochen (Entscheidungsträger in der BIG sowie in Nutzerministerien, weitere Immobilienunternehmen national und international).
Baustelle SCHULE - Nachhaltige Sanierungsmodelle für Schulen
Im Forschungsprojekt wurden modellhafte Sanierungskonzepte für den Schulgebäudebestand entwickelt. Die Konzepte umfassen Maßnahmenkataloge zur Implementierung nachhaltiger Bautechnologien und Fallbeispiele für die Neuorganisation von Gebäuden verschiedener Typologien.
