Within the project the current Austrian standards concerning building services and building physics have been revised and further developed to provide the designers with standardized calculation algorithms for the design of plus-energy buildings.

Feedback zu PlanerInnen und Bauträgern, sowie wissenschaftliche Aufarbeitung der Erkenntnisse und Erfahrungen aus diesem Prozess sind ebenfalls Teil des Projekts.

Community organizing is used as a method to develop an activating social process to inform and include involved people in the district concerning new buildings but also in the process of urban renewal. Vom 7. bis 9. Oktober 2009 veranstaltete AEE INTEC in Kooperation mit der Stadt Weiz zum dritten Mal das Symposium "ökosan". Das Symposium mit Poster- und Fachausstellung hat sich mittlerweile zu einer der größten Veranstaltungen zu diesem Thema in Österreich mit erheblicher internationaler Beteiligung entwickelt.

Manage_GeoCity - Development of a method for the coordinated management of geothermal energy in urban areas
Based on the urban region Graz a method had been developed for the coordinated use and management of shallow geothermal energy for heating and cooling as well as seasonal heat storage in urban regions. Ground water flow, different geologic conditions, heating and cooling demand, heat input from solar collectors and industrial waste heat and the possibilities of seasonal heat storage in the subsurface were considered.
