Development of approaches, which lead to general conditions for complete refurbishments in BIG-buildings, which support high standards regarding energy efficiency and sustainability. This will ensure high-quality modernizations for BIG's real estate.
EnergieAudioAkademie - Development and usage of audiofiles for the training of professionals from the building sector
Important issues in building energy efficiency will be prepared as audio files. The target groups are builders and plumbers. The files complement existing training and educational programs and will be disseminated via CDs and/or USB sticks to the target groups via craftsmen networks and an internet platform.

Lehmbau 2.0: Lehmbau der Zukunft - Handwerkskunst nach ingenieurwissenschaftlichen Ansätzen
Das Sondierungsprojekt untersucht die Eignung faseroptischer Sensorik zur langfristigen Überwachung von Formänderungsverhalten von Stampflehmwandelementen unter Feuchtigkeits- und Temperaturschwankungen (Schwinden) sowie Auflasten (Kriechen). Die experimentellen Erkenntnisse werden in ein Finite-Elemente-Modell zur Simulation des Versagensverhaltens unter Last integriert.
LehmKur - Stampflehmwände für den mehrgeschoßigen Wohnbau
Beforschung eines Leuchtturmprojektes aus Stampflehm-Holz-Außenwandbauteilen mit begleitenden bauökologischen Berechnungen, bauphysikalischen Simulationen und der Dokumentation der erforderlichen logistischen sowie baurechtlich, brand- und schallschutztechnisch Maßnahmen.
InSite - Monitoring und Evaluierung von innovativen Demonstrationsgebäuden
In den Programmen "Stadt der Zukunft" und "Smart City Initiative" wurden in den vergangenen Jahren eine Vielzahl an Demonstrationsprojekten umgesetzt. Um die entwickelten Innovationen in einheitlicher und vergleichbarer Form bewerten zu können und die gewonnen Erkenntnisse für Umsetzer:innen zugänglich zu machen, werden in InSite 10 ausgewählte Objekte dieser Programme über 24 Monate einem energetischen und ökologischen Monitoring sowie sozialwissenschaftlichen Befragungen unterzogen. Die interpretierten Ergebnisse liegen als publizierte Studie sowie als interaktive Online-Plattform vor und sind öffentlich zugänglich.
