The consumption of ecological and economic resources over the whole life cycle is supposed to be anticipated and optimised in the design process of buildings and refurbishments. A combined life cycle assessment model together with an economic-ecological base element catalogue considering the klima:aktiv criteria was developed based on the structure of the life cycle cost model LEKOS and the ecological valuation tool Ecosoft.
LifeCycle Tower - Energieeffizientes Holzhochhaus in Systembauweise
Aufbauend auf den Ergebnissen vorangegangener Forschungsarbeiten wurde im vorliegenden Projekt ein Holzfertigteil-Baukastensystem zur Errichtung energieeffizienter Bürohochhäuser mit bis zu 20 Geschoßen entwickelt, das sowohl nachhaltig ist, als auch Kostensicherheit während des gesamten Lebenszyklus bietet.

Das Energiekonzept führte den Gewerbebetrieb Gugler im Rahmen der Umnutzung und Erweiterung zum Plusenergiestandard. Wesentliche Maßnahmen waren die konsequente maximale Reduzierung des Nutz- und Endenergiebedarfs, optimale Nutzung vorhandener Prozess-Abwärmen, maximale Ausschöpfung der Energieressourcen vor Ort, gebäudeintegrierte Energieerzeugung, ökologisches Lastmanagement mit umfassenden Response- und Speicher-Techniken.

Das Leitprojektmanagement sorgt weiterhin für ausreichende Vernetzung zwischen den Projektpartnern durch Einberufen von monatlichen, nach Erfordernis wöchentlichen Projektworkshops. Des Weiteren vertritt das Leitprojektmanagement das Projekt gugler nach außen und nimmt an den workshops des Programmmanagements teil.
KLIMUR - Klimaresilientes, urbanes Ressourcenmanagement am Fallbeispiel Zukunftshof und Rothneusiedl
Für das Konzept des Zukunftshofs, einer innovativen urbanen Landwirtschaft, sollen durch Optimierungstools und parametrischem Design Entwicklungsszenarien für ein integriertes Energie- und Ressourcenkreislaufsystem entwickelt werden. Eine Roadmap, bestehend aus technischen Konzepten und einer abgestimmten Finanzierungsstrategie, soll die Grundlagen für ein Demoprojekt liefern, das in der Praxis zeigt, wie der Zukunftshof Ausgangspunkt und Basis für eine ressourceneffiziente und klimaresiliente Stadtentwicklung sein kann.

Untersuchung der Auswirkungen des Klimawandels auf den thermischen Komfort am Beispiel mehrerer Bürogebäude in Wien mit Augenmerk auf das NutzerInnenverhalten. Dadurch wurden Grundlagen für die Erarbeitung detaillierter Anpassungsstrategien durch Immobilienwirtschaft und Politik geschaffen, die in Start- und Ergebnisworkshops aktiv in das Projekt einbezogen wurden.
PESI - Paradigm shift in urban energy systems through synergies with industry
Analysis of different options for the use of industrial surplus energies of various shapes (waste heat, waste water, waste) and renewable energy sources in the industrial sector (e.g. solar panels on roof surfaces) in adjacent urban areas, which act as an "energy sponge". Based on real consumption and availability data, a simulation model was created and opportunities for synergies were documented.
PEAR – Test facility for energy efficient automation and control of buildings
The energy demand calculated in the design phase often differs from measured values in the actual building operation. This projects reviews building automation and operation by presenting a solution how to assess energy efficiency of control strategies in the fields of air conditioning systems, concrete core activation and free cooling. The results are implemented in the demonstration building "Post am Rochus".
SpeedReg - Prompt quality assurance of the commissioning process of buildings
The focus of the project is on quality assurance within the commissioning process with the aim to speed up and to improve the operational adjustment of newly constructed or comprehensively renovated buildings. The fragmented know-how which is hardly accessible for the relevant target groups will be consolidated and elaborated in the form of a practice guideline which will be directly applicable in commissioning processes in practice. In this way the project contributes to the development of a common, well-established standard for quality assurance within the commissioning of buildings.
