"gugler! build & print triple zero" - subproject 2: building with recycros
Building with recycros is working out basics in order to close the cycle of materials in the building sector as well as to increase the usage of recycled materials (recycros). The existing material cycles in the building sector are going to be analysed. Furthermore, there will be a catalogue presented, covering the actual situation of which materials are used in today´s engineering and how the waste is treated. The project will be completed with a summary of results and a proposal of concrete materials and constructional systems for the building project gugler.
Gründerzeit with future - subproject 5: Documentation and monitoring
The main aim is the documentation and monitoring of the demonstration projects within the scope of the project "Historical buildings of tomorrow" with regard to the technical implementation, investment and operation costs and to the energetic performance. All demonstration projects will be accompanied by an evaluation process regarding occupants' satisfaction and the refurbishment process. Beyond that, legal constraints for innovative refurbishment of historical buildings will be documented and proposals for adaptations of the rental law and refurbishment subsidy schemes will be developed.

BIM4BEMS - Building Information Modeling for Building Energy Management Systems
BIM4BEMS explores use cases that represent the usage of building information models (BIM) in combination with building energy management systems (BEMS) during operation. This enables the interaction between BIM and building management systems (BMS) which improves the analysis and visualization of inefficiencies in facilities.
Solar Adsorption cooling system of residential and office buildings (SunSorber)
In the on hand project an adsorber/desorber for a solar operated/district heating operated one-level adsorption chiller with water as cooling agent and silica gel as adsorbent agent will be planned for a low range of performance (2 to 50 kW refrigerating capacity). It will be implemented as a test-/pilot plant. Hence these two substances are an alternative to the HFCKW´s cooling agents that are used nowadays.

BIM4BEMS - Building Information Modeling for Building Energy Management Systems
BIM4BEMS untersucht Anwendungsfälle, die den Nutzen eines BIM-Modells in Kombination mit Energiemanagementsystemen (BEMS) im Betrieb darstellen, die die Verbindung zwischen BIM und Gebäudeleittechnik (BMS) erlauben, und somit zu verbessertem Reporting und Erkennung von Ineffizienzen im bestehenden Gebäudebetrieb führen.
Update of content and usability for the Manual for Energy Consultants (HfE-New)
The Manual for Energy Consultants had been adapted to present and future needs in energy consulting. The updated manual will preserve the basic concept (buildings with at least close to domestic energy use patterns, up to 1000 m² heated floor area, concentration on refurbishment) and the existing structure: Checklists, data sheets and explanations.
BIGMODERN - Subprojekt 5: Machbarkeitsanalysen innovativer technischer Lösungen
Der Einsatz innovativer Technologien bedeutet zusätzlichen Planungs- und Koordinierungsaufwand, der in konventionellen Planungsprozessen der BIG üblicherweise nicht unterzubringen ist. Um diese Barrieren für den Einsatz innovativer Technologien für Planungsprozesse zu überwinden, zielt das Projekt darauf ab, Informationen, Machbarkeitsanalysen, Planungsunterlagen und Anwendungs- bzw. Ausführungsbeispiele sowie Erfahrungsberichte zu innovativen Technologien so aufzubereiten, dass sie unmittelbar in Planungsprozessen eingesetzt werden können.
IEA SHC Task 37: Fortschrittliche thermische Gebäudesanierung
Entwicklung von fortschrittlichen Konzepten zur hochwertigen Sanierung von Wohngebäuden. Für die Gebäudesektoren mit den größten Energieeinsparungspotentialen werden Strategien zu einer verstärkten Marktdurchdringung hochwertiger Sanierungen untersucht. Die Analyse von wegweisenden Sanierungsvorhaben soll, unter Bedachtnahme auf die Nachhaltigkeit, zu technisch und wirtschaftlich robusten Sanierungskonzepten führen.
BIGMODERN - Subproject 2: Demonstration project of an official building in Bruck
In the frame of this subproject being part of the flagship project BIGMODERN, a decision matrix as well as a handbook for planning, including feasibility analysis and a collection of information, serving as decision guidance for planning and implementation of sustainable building refurbishment, is being developed. In this way, the risk for planners and builders of the usage of new sustainable technologies shall be minimised.
GEMA – Assessment of the performance of energy-efficient demonstration buildings
In GEMA, the project team will study and analyse the energy consumption of at least 10 commercial and residential buildings in Austria, which include innovative technologies or concepts for minimising their energy requirements. The results will allow for the potential optimal performance in terms of energy, environmental and social indicators of buildings in future construction projects.
P2H-Pot - Potentials, economic feasibility and system solutions for Power-to-Heat
P2H-Pot has identified economically feasible potentials for Power-to-Heat (P2H) in urban regions. The suitability of different technical system configurations were investigated using thermodynamic simulation and considering experiences from Scandinavian cases. The assessment of short, medium and long term relevance and economic feasibility of P2H were accomplished by simulating model-based scenarios up to 2050 of the Austrian and German electricity and heat market. In cooperation with a district heating company three case studies have been carried out.

Der Fokus lag auf ganzheitlicher Sanierung der Gebäudehülle und der Gebäudetechnik, um einen zeitgemäßen Nutzungskomfort der Gebäude zu erreichen.

baubookPlus - Erweiterung einer umfassenden Wissensbasis für nachhaltiges Bauen
Durch die Gründung der baubook GmbH 2008 wurden die beiden Bauprodukte-Datenbanken "öbox" und "ixbau.at" zusammengeführt. Die neue Datenbank baubook wurde um wesentliche Funktionalitäten (zentrale Produktdeklaration, Dezentralisierung der Qualitätssicherung) und Bereiche (Biomassekessel) erweitert.
Aufbau einer Österreichischen EPD-Plattform für Bauprodukte (EPD-Plattform AT)
Gegenstand des vorliegenden Forschungsvorhabens war die Erstellung der Allgemeinen Programmanleitungen für die "Österreichische EPD (Environmental Product Deklaration)-Plattform für Bauprodukte": die Basisanforderungen, die Allgemeinen Regeln für Ökobilanzen und die Untersuchungsrichtlinien für Emissionen in die Raumluft und die Umwelt während der Nutzungsphase.
