IEA UsersTCP SLA 2.0: Inclusive and Community-Oriented Approaches to a Social License to Automate (Working period 2022-2024)
The energy transition is critical in solving the climate crisis. Automated demand side management has great potential in this process but struggles with social acceptance. In SLA2.0, the role of gender and diversity factors concerning flexibility and engagement was analysed, and the potential contribution of energy communities to a social license for automation was explored. Based on the findings, flexibility profiles and recommendations were developed.

IEA 4E TCP-PECTA: Power Electronic Conversion Technology (Working period 2019 - 2021)
The IEA 4E Power Electronic Conversion Technology Annex (PECTA) aims to evaluate the efficiency potential related to the integration of Wide Bandgap (WBG) based power semiconductors for relevant applications and to act as an independent knowledge platform. In the first work period, energy savings have been initially assessed for selected applications, a roadmap for WBG materials was derived and the work plan for PECTA's Phase 2 was defined.

The international Smart Grid Action Network (ISGAN) aims to improve the understanding of Smart-Grid-technologies and to accelerate global deployment. The work in ISGAN is structured in eight standing working groups (annexes). The present project describes the Austrian contribution to Annex 1: Smart Grids Inventory and Annex 2: Smart Grids Case Studies.

IEA Hydrogen Task 48: Future demand of Hydrogen in Industry
The task provides an overview of the current and expected use of hydrogen in various industrial sectors. It evaluates the extent to which past and predicted developments in the use of hydrogen in industry deviate from the roadmaps of different countries. This information is important for both companies and policymakers and can support the ramp-up of hydrogen use and the decarbonization of the industrial sector.
