GIPV-Balcony-Element
Under the basic principle GIPV as "energy source balcony" this project should help covering a part of the electricity needs from renewable energy. By integrating the already preassembled PV elements into the balcony construction, the elements for the final assembly range up to 4 meters. The aim is to win besides private persons also particularly the gastronomy, especially the hotel sector (in tourist regions) as well as the housing sector (e.g. via architects) as customers.
thermocollect: realisation of a plus energy building by a solar active facade system
The project demonstrates the application of a solar active facade system in the course of the renovation of an existing building in order to achieve the plus-energy standard. Moreover, the effectiveness of the system will be demonstrated on new buildings and transparent components as well. The final outcome will be a manual for the application and implementation of the façade system focusing on the segment of specialists and skilled labour.
Facade Integrated Solar Collectors

Within the framework of this project system-, structural- as well as building physical basis theories should be elaborated, which will serve as a basis for constructional and aesthetically attractive solutions for the production of facade integrated solar collectors without thermal separation. The recyclability of the materials used and resource efficiency play a central role when it comes to the development of constructional solutions.
Research work on outside sprayed-on cellulose insulation covered with plastering

This research work was done to expand knowledge about outside sprayed-on cellulose insulation application focusing on mechanical and physical properties respectively.
ProKlim+ - Use of Model Predictive Control to optimize solar power consumption in case of increased energy efficiency.
Using weather forecast for building automation can help improving the energy efficiency of buildings and, thus, saving energy. In the project ProKlim+ the forecast of solar radiation will be used to optimize the building automation to satisfy the needs of the building users, and at the same time to minimize the energy demand on the one hand and to maximize the consumption of self-produced energy on the other hand.
Sorption cooling and air dehumidification device
Solar-assisted air-conditioning in combination with comfortable controlled ventilation systems soon possible and affordably for building owners. With a new part DEC-systems should become acceptance.
New High thermal insulated lightweight timber-frame constructions
Development for the application in the passive house standard (e.g. low-energy houses).
Energetic building refurbishment in protection zones

Standardized solutions as a help and guideline for building-owners, authorities and companies
baubookPlus - Expansion of an extensive knowledge database of sustainable buildings
By the foundation of the baubook GmbH in 2008 the two databases of building products "öbox" and "ixbau.at" have been merged. The new database baubook was expanded. Essential functions (central product declaration, decentral quality management) and fields of products were added.
Photovoltaic solar modules for building integration
Development of new manufacturing technique for photovoltaic solar modules, which fulfil the special requirements of building integration.
Product and system development for an inside thermal insulation construction of historical houses using magnesite bonded wood wool panels

The objective of this project is to examine the ability of magnesite bonded wood wool panels as an inside thermal insulation system, especially for houses with historical facades and to acquire starting points for further development of the products and components being used. Parallel to the data which will be calculated in a theoretical FEM-model, a field trial will be carried out to prove the influence on the inside room climate. In addition the sustainability of the system will be analysed.
MODESTORE - Modular High Energy Density Sorption Heat Storage

Seasonal storage of solar heat for use in low energy and passive houses (new buildings as well as old buildings).
ThinkHome: Improved energy efficiency based on artificial intelligence in future homes
ThinkHome is a networked controlled home of the future with the ultimate goal to optimise energy efficiency and user comfort at the same time. On this way, smart interaction between all building services is of utmost importance. Goals of this project include the definition of a comprehensive knowledge base that holds all relevant building data, the evaluation of control strategies based on artificial intelligence and machine learning, as well as agent based software engineering.
Solar cooling machine with a cooling power of 2 kW

Development and building of a prototype of a coolingmachine with a cooling power of 2 kW, tests and optimizing on a test facility, connection to a solar unit and utilization for air conditioning.
Development of a Window for Passive-Housing Featuring an Integrated Sun Shield

Development of a laminated wooden/aluminum window for a passive-housing featuring an integrated sun shield in the shape of blinds or of folding net curtain.
Thermocollect - Solar active facade system, using direct solar radiation for temperature conditioning of buildings
The new Thermocollect Energy-Facade System allows to utilize the solar radiation that hits the facade on a on-demand-basis. The system works with a mechanically active mechanism which selectively gathers the solar radiation and additionally can be used as a cooling and heating system according to the local requirements.
Development of a solid-wood-passivehouse-window
Based on experience with low-energy-windows, a solid wood window is being developed, which meets passivehouse-standards.
Development of affordable building equipment and services for future "Energy Plus houses" (Plus-Hybrid)
"Plus-Hybrid" integrates knowledge and experience from current activities and complement them by adopting a holistic approach, considering the intelligent interconnection of components as well as managing the planned efforts and human resources in time. The goal of this project was to develop affordable building equipment and services for future "Energy Plus houses".
