The town of Ternitz has been a Climate Alliance municipality since 1991, a member of the KEM Schwarzatal region since 2010/2011, an e5 municipality (with 4e) since 2011, and was awarded the title "Energie.Vorbild.Gemeinde" in June 2023 within the LEADER region NÖ-Süd. Key focus areas include the expansion of photovoltaics, the promotion of cycling, public transport and e-mobility, energy efficiency in the public sector, the use of synergies with local industry, and the implementation of energy-efficient residential building concepts.

Pioneer City - Partnership for Climate Neutral Cities 2030

With its participation in the "Mission:Klimaneutrale Stadt", the City of Innsbruck is pursuing the goal of setting the course for achieving climate neutrality. In addition to the creation of structures within the city administration, climate-effective measures are being tested in the existing "Eichhof"-residential quarter together with the stakeholders. Successful measures shall then be implemented throughout the city. The intensive exchange with the other pioneer cities, the conscious use of synergy and the associated broad spectrum of knowledge and experience are necessary resources for the implementation of this project

Climate Pioneer City Graz (KPS_Graz)

As an integral part of the ongoing Climate Change Mitigation Plan Graz process, the Climate Pioneer City Graz project with the Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology (BMK) will make a noticeable contribution to ensuring that the planned local processes and measures to achieve climate neutrality are implemented more quickly. AC/DC Office Buildings - Implementation of Electricity Networks with Alternating and Direct Current in Office Buildings - Feasibility and Energy Efficiency Potentials

Based on a literature and technology review this projects aimed to document and demonstrate already available and reasonable concepts for the implementation of electricity networks with alternating and direct current in modern office buildings. Focus of the study was to assess the feasibility in general and the energy efficiency potential in particular but it also documents necessary technical equipment and expected advantages and disadvantages. Additionally, important research questions for energy supply, energy distribution and application of direct current technologies were formulated.
