EPIKUR – Energieeffizienz-Potential intelligenter Kernverdichtung des urbanen Raums
Das gegenständliche Forschungsvorhaben befasste sich mit den Möglichkeiten, Implikationen und Rückkopplungen, die sich durch eine "Stadterweiterung nach innen" mittels innerstädtischer urbaner Verdichtung ergeben. Dabei wurde Nachverdichtung als paradigmenfrei untersucht, d.h. unabhängig von bestehenden Regulativen, sondern anhand des vernünftig machbaren.
EPIKUR – Energy efficiency potential of intelligent measures of urban densification
The present research proposal focused on the possibility, implications and consequences of "inwards urban expansion" through densification of the existing urban tissue. In this context, densification is not only approached through known and common aspects of building regulations and guidelines, but in view of what is actually possible to achieve.

FiTNeS - Fassadenintegrierte modulare Split-Wärmepumpe für Neubau und Sanierung
Das Ziel von FitNeS war die Entwicklung von modularen Split-Wärmepumpen mit sehr kompakten fassadenintegrierten Außeneinheiten für die Verwendung zur wohnungsweisen Heizung und Trinkwarmwasserversorgung. Einerseits soll eine modulare Bauweise mit einem hohen Grad an Vorfertigung ermöglicht werden und andererseits soll die architektonische Gestaltung und ein ansprechendes Design besondere Berücksichtigung finden. Eines der wesentlichen Entwicklungsziele ist die Minimierung der Schallemissionen durch eine optimierte Strömungsführung.
E.Vent - Effiziente, kostengünstige und wartungsfreundliche zentrale Mehrfamilienhaus-Lüftungsanlagen - Planung, Betrieb und Brandschutz
Ziel des Projekts war es, innovative technische Lösungen und Planungshilfen für eine kostengünstige Umsetzung und einen energieeffizienten und wartungsarmen Betrieb von zentralen Wohnraumlüftungssystemen zu erarbeiten. Dabei wurde ein starker Fokus auf das Thema Brandschutz und Balanceabgleich gelegt.
SYSPEQ - Systemische Lösung zum Betrieb von Plusenergiequartieren
Vollumfängliche Planungskonzepte für Plusenergiequartiere (PEQs) und deren Betrieb als Energiegemeinschaft. Der Fokus liegt auf der Umsetzung im Bestandsbau, insbesondere im Bereich des sozialen/gemeinnützigen Wohnbaus. Finanzierungsoptionen von erneuerbaren Erzeugungsanlagen, Planung und Betrieb eines PEQs (speziell als EG), Vermarktungsmöglichkeiten des Überschussstroms sowie Entwicklung einer Informations- und Vernetzungsplattform sind Teil dieses Projektes. Ein besonderes Highlight ist die praktische Umsetzung eines PEQs und der Betrieb als EG im Demonstrationsquartier Fuchsenloch der Sozialbau.
SYSPEQ - Systemische Lösung zum Betrieb von Plusenergiequartieren
Full-scale planning concepts for positive energy districts (PEDs) and their operation as energy communities (ECs). The focus is on the implementation in the existing building stock, especially in the area of social/non-profit housing. Financing options for renewable generation units, planning and operation of a PED (especially as an EC), marketing opportunities for surplus electricity and the development of an information and networking platform are part of this project. A special highlight is the practical proof-of-concept in Fuchsenloch, which is a social housing quarter of Sozialbau.

Das Projekt „Villab - Sondierung“ dient der Überprüfung der Machbarkeit eines urbanen Innovationslabors zur Beschleunigung der Transformation Villacher Quartiere in Richtung Klimaneutralität. Die positive Machbarkeit vorausgesetzt, werden die Kooperationen mit relevanten Stakeholdern vertieft und ein Businessplan für ein künftiges Innovationslabor erstellt.
Villab – Exploration of a Villach innovation laboratory for the cooperative development of sustainable neighbourhoods
The "Villab - Probe" project serves to check the feasibility of an urban innovation laboratory to accelerate the transformation of Villach districts towards climate neutrality. Assuming positive feasibility, the cooperation with relevant stakeholders will be deepened and a business plan drawn up for a future innovation laboratory.
SCI_BIM - Scanning and data capturing for Integrated Resources and Energy Assessment using Building Information Modelling

The Box - Thermal High Performance Decoupling - Next Generation Thermal Break Technology
The project pursues the overall strategic objective "solution of the problem-inducing heat bridge". For this purpose, the thermal bridging losses should be reduced by the factor of 15 in contrast to the state of the art. The significant increase in efficiency should rely on existing system solutions, but incorporating a new holistic view in terms of construction, geometry and materials.
