Forschungsforum
FORSCHUNGSFORUM informs about selected projects in the field of "Sustainable Development"
greenWATERrecycling – utilization of greywater for energy recovery and for providing greywater-filtrate for watering green walls
Development of a system for energy-recovery of waste heat of greywater and of greywater-filtrate in ordert o reduce the energy consumption of hot water supply and the water consumption for irrigation.
Energy Mosaic Austria - Austrianwide modelling and web-based visualisation of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions on local level
The project consists of a modelling and a web-based visualisation of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions of all Austrian cities and municipalities considering all kinds of land use and mobility. The results deliver a sound basis for numerous energy and climate relevant fields of action and for awareness raising of decision makers and the public.
IEA Greenhouse Gas R&D Programme (IEA GHG TCP)
Founded in 1991, the remit of the GHG TCP is to evaluate options and assess the progress of carbon capture and storage, and other technologies that can reduce greenhouse gas emissions derived from the use of fossil fuels, biomass and waste. The aim of the TCP is to help accelerate energy technology innovation by ensuring that stakeholders from both the public and private sectors share knowledge, work collaboratively and pool resources to deliver integrated and cost-effective solutions.
SmartCity Baumgarten - Demonstration of an anergy network and implementation of climate-friendly solutions in existing districts
Implementation of a cross-property anergy network for the supply of heating, cooling and electricity in an existing neighbourhood. With this demonstration project, a technical-legal alternative for areas outside of district heating supply is developed, which makes it possible for neighbourhoods to join together to use renewable energies in common.
IEA District Heating and Cooling (DHC TCP)
The TCP on District Heating and Cooling (DHC) was founded in 1983. It deals with the design, performance and operation of DHC and Combined Heat and Power systems as powerful tools for energy conservation and the reduction of environmental impacts of supplying heat.
Energy Optimization and Recovery Technology Collaboration Programme (EOR TCP)
Optimizing energy production and storing energy are of paramount importance for energy supply security and the energy transition. The EOR TCP covers the optimization and use of underground reservoirs for the next generation energy systems.
P2PQ - Peer2Peer im Quartier
The research project Peer2Peer im Quartier deals with applications optimizing the selfconsumption of PV-generated energy within urban quarters by enabling peer-to-peer relations among energy prosumers based on Blockchains. Aim is to develop and validate these applications in real operation.
Clean Energy Education & Empowerment (C3E International Initiative)
The C3E TCP deals with strategies, policies and measures to increase the promotion of women in the energy sector. The aim is to create a framework in which participating countries can share information and best practices on effective strategies for the empowerment of women in this sector.
Mission: Climate Neutral City
With the mission "Climate Neutral City", the BMK has set a focus that will enable Austrian cities and municipalities to implement the climate & energy targets. Comprehensive research activities and accompanying measures act as "enablers" to make the path towards climate neutrality visible, to develop demonstrate it.
Joint Programming Conference Smart Energy Systems 2022
18. - 20. October 2022
Online
Conference on strategic actions to implement Energy Systems Integration at local, regional, European level – and beyond.
Joint Programming Conference Smart Energy Systems (JPP SES)
23. - 25. November 2021
Online
The Joint Programming Conference Smart Energy Systems will bring together for the third time SET-Plan initiatives and funding networks in the field of energy systems and system integration.
RENOWAVE.AT - The innovation lab for sustainable, climate-neutral renovation of buildings and districts
RENOWAVE.AT will act as a central contact point for collaboration in innovation projects and provide systematic and early access to as well as promote innovative, scalable renovation concepts and sustainable renovation technologies within real development environments (open innovation principle).

Solar Process Heat: Experts Meeting and Industry Workshop of IEA SHC Task 64 / SolarPACES Task IV
March 25 - 27, 2020
Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR), Linder Höhe, 51143 Köln
Main objectives are to identify possible support of interested stakeholders, to collect actual challenges and work on innovative solutions and ideas. The next day’s industry workshop (March 27th) focuses on the exchange between industrial and scientific experts for the implementation of SHIP in Central Europe.
Biobased Plastics Scenario 2050 - plastics made from renewable resources
A “2050 scenario - plastics made from renewable resources (bio-based plastics)” has been developed. The hypothetical target of this scenario is for bio-based plastics to have a 100 % market share of product manufacturing in the EU. The scenario provides the basis for further national RTI activities and for recommendations for regulation.
New Communal Centre Ludesch
Community centre with multi-functional usage (cultural events, library, post office, bakery, grocery, daycare, private apartments, meeting point of the generations); role model for consistent implementation of ecological criteria in public tendering; plausible evidence of cost efficiency
New aluminium - sun collector
The development of a new aluminium - sun collector, where the working- fluid completely run through the absorber- area, to reach a higher efficiency.
Energy park Micheldorf-Hirt
Co-operative merging of the energy supply for the Region of Micheldorf within an operating scheme and supply of energy produced through renewable resources. Sustainable, autarkic, economic energy park. Energy supply by renewable resources for the building of the energy autarkic region Micheldorf-Hirt
