ECR Energy City Graz - subproject 3: +ERS - Plus Energy Network Reininghaus Süd

The multifunctional neighbourhood "+ERS - Plus Energy Network Reininghaus Süd" was realized within the urban planning area of Graz-Reininghaus. The project aims to optimize the energy concept of the single buildings as well as of the building cluster in order to achieve a plus-energy standard within the residential neighbourhood.

Optimisation of ecological construction components for industrial serial production of precast elements

The project focused on passive house elements from straw and clay. Special interest was paid at a novel straw insulation as well as at an efficient drying process of the clay. Sustainability of the building materials was a very important aspect within the project.

EnergieAudioAkademie - Development and usage of audiofiles for the training of professionals from the building sector

Important issues in building energy efficiency will be prepared as audio files. The target groups are builders and plumbers. The files complement existing training and educational programs and will be disseminated via CDs and/or USB sticks to the target groups via craftsmen networks and an internet platform.

The project aims for highly-efficient renovation of existing buildings and settlements in urban areas. The main focus are buildings that were built between 1950 and 1980.

"gugler! build & print triple zero" - subproject 2: building with recycros

Building with recycros is working out basics in order to close the cycle of materials in the building sector as well as to increase the usage of recycled materials (recycros). The existing material cycles in the building sector are going to be analysed. Furthermore, there will be a catalogue presented, covering the actual situation of which materials are used in today´s engineering and how the waste is treated. The project will be completed with a summary of results and a proposal of concrete materials and constructional systems for the building project gugler.

European Smart City Initiative - Assessment of Best Practices to StimulateMarket-/Demand-Pull

This study analyses endeavours of several European cities of becoming Smart Cities. The Kyoto Protocol from 2002 as well as the participation in different energy initiatives play a crucial role. The comparison of the results from the different cities shows that Austria has to become more ambitioned and thorough in the realm of its Smart City strategies.
