The project aims to promote a flexible quality assurance management for the retrofitting process. It leads to high quality renovations of residential multifamily buildings regarding energy improvement and improvement of indoor environment.
Modular and standardised passive houses in solid timber construction
Concerning to an accurate and adaptable construction of 2 to 4 storey solid timber houses with the characteristics of a passive house, a digital construction and dimension system will be developed. The system which contains standardised modular ecological detailed solutions enables an exact dimensioning and installation of passive houses by small carpentering companies.

At the development "residential Passive House Utendorfgasse" were reached very low building costs. Would there be different building costs by using ecological materials and technologies? PHOTOVOLTAIC WATER Solution
Passive House refurbishment facade with integrated photovoltaic modules for direct, current-based warm water preheating. The GIWOG, an energy-conscious and environmentally and socially oriented client, intends to undertake an energy-related modernisation project, which will further optimise energy consumption to be more efficient at an apartment complex in Graz, main street 302-306. The goal is to lower the energy consumption for heating and hot water from the current level of approximately 135 kWh /m²a to approximately 8 kWh /m²a. The planned measures should correspond with an overall energy consumption reduction of approx. 94 %.
