Um die im Strategieprozess erarbeiteten Unternehmens-, Geschäfts- und Kompetenzfeldstrategien leichter kommunizieren zu können und deren Umsetzung gezielter steuerbar und messbar zu machen, wurde ein flächendeckendes Steuerungssystem auf Basis der Methode der Balanced Scorecard aufgebaut. Der Aspekt der Nachhaltigkeit wurde dabei besonders betont.

Es ist Ziel des Projekts ein Modell für nachhaltiges Management in einem Unternehmen der Fleischverarbeitenden Industrie umzusetzen. Das Managementmodell beinhaltet die Aspekte der Strategieentwicklung, der Zielsetzung, der Überwachung der Zielerreichung in Form von Bewertung und die Unterstützung der operativen Umsetzung in Form eines EDV-Systems. Das Modell wird in Jahr 1 für die Kernprozesse des Unternehmens, ab Jahr 2 für das Unternehmen und die Wertschöpfungskette konzipiert und umgesetzt.
