Anhand des konkreten Bauvorhabens in der Giefinggasse 4 in Wien wurde die Verbindung neuer, innovativer Strategien und Technologien zu einem ganzheitlichen, ressourcenschonenden Plusenergiegebäude mit hoher Signal- und Multiplikationswirkung auf ihre Durchführbarkeit untersucht. Es wurde dabei auch ein regionaler, energetischer Verbund zwischen den Gebäuden TECHbase, ENERGYbase und dem Klima-Windkanal in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft geschaffen.

The aim of the project was to develop a replicable deconstruction strategy for residential buildings to force the recovery-oriented dismantling. The key aspects of the project are the development of standardized building models in order to analyse the recovery-oriented dismantling process, the design of a deconstruction catalogue and the transfer of the project findings to refurbishment, design and erecting of residential buildings.

Die rund 3.000 darin dokumentierten Gebäude zeichnet höchster Benutzerkomfort aus und weisen energetische und bautechnische Standards vom Passivhaus bis zum Passivhaus-Plus auf. Durch Vernetzung von Objekt-und Evaluierungsdaten wird diese Datenbank die weltweit fundierteste Grundlage für höchst energieeffiziente Gebäude und bietet durch die Vielsprachigkeit und Qualitätssicherung neue nachhaltige Exportchancen.

The major goal of the project was the development of innovative control concepts for controlling and optimizing heating, cooling and ventilation systems (HVAC) as well as building loads. The implementation of advanced, energy efficient non-linear control techniques in building management systems is supported by new sensor technologies that are applied to building and energy systems in order to improve their energy-efficient operation.
