GeoDatKlim - Vorbereitung Reallabor: IoT und Geo-KI-gestütztes Datenmanagement für die klimaneutrale Stadt
Vorbereitung eines Reallabors, das es zahlreichen Akteur:innen ermöglicht, den tatsächlichen Nutzen urbaner Daten bzw. deren KI-unterstützter Analyse für eine klimaneutrale Stadt zu beforschen. Mittels Klärung strategischer, technischer und rechtlicher Aspekte sowie im Wege von Potenzialanalysen entlang relevanter Anwendungsfälle werden die Rahmenbedingungen für eine offene, mehrjährige Forschungsumgebung (Reallabor) in Wien auf den Weg gebracht.
GeoDatKlim - Preparation of an innovation lab - IoT and geo-AI-supported data management for the climate-neutral city
Preparation of a real laboratory that will enable numerous actors to research the actual benefits of urban data or their AI-supported analysis for a climate-neutral city. By clarifying strategic, technical and legal aspects as well as potential analyses along relevant use cases, the framework conditions for an open, multi-year research environment (real laboratory) in Vienna are set in motion.

The use of natural resources in long-lived products and buildings has led to the build-up of enormous urban material stocks. The present project analyses the potential of these urban mines to increase the resource efficiency of modern cities.
Piezo-Klett: Entwicklung piezoelektrischer Klettanwendung zur Energieversorgung aktiver Sensorik im Bauwesen
Das vorliegende Projekt betrachtete Gebäude, Gebäudeteile und ihre Anschlüsse (Bauteilknoten) als Energiegeneratoren, indem durch die Anwendung der Klettverbindung in Kombination mit dem piezoelektrischen Effekt ein so genanntes Energy Harvesting betrieben wird.
Piezo-Klett: Development of piezoelectric hook-and-loop application for the energy supply of active sensor technology in the building industry
The present project considered buildings, parts of buildings and their joints (component nodes) as energy generators by using the hook-and-loop fastener in combination with the piezoelectric effect to perform a so-called energy harvesting.

SPACE4free - Retrofitting souterrain areas in 19th century townhouses to apartments with high quality of life and low energy consumption
Planning of durable and damage-free apartments with high quality of life and low energy consumption in moisture exposed souterrain areas of 19th century townhouses. Using innovative ventilation control systems comfortable room climate will be created. Additionally the tolerance of different types of use is ensured. A planning tool enables the scaling of the findings and thus the applicability to various planning situations.
CityStore - Sondierung des wesentlichen F&E-Bedarfs zur Optimierung von städtischen Energiespeichern in integrierten Energiesystemen
In CityStore wird erstmals ein innovativer Ansatz zur räumlichen Verortung von Speicherbedarf und -potentialen verfolgt. Dies inkludiert die Evaluierung der konkreten Herausforderungen und Voraussetzungen sowie die Identifikation von sinnvollen Speichertechnologien und -kapazitäten. Dazu werden Modellrechnungen für die Vorzeigestädte Graz und Weiz durchgeführt und die Verallgemeinerungsfähigkeit der Ergebnisse anhand der Follower-Region Südburgenland untersucht. Die Resultate sollen optimierte Planung und Realisierung von städtischen Energiespeichern ermöglichen – wodurch zielgerichtet in Energieinfrastruktur zur Umsetzung von (lokalen) Klima- und Energiezielen investiert werden kann.

CityStore pursues a first-of-its-kind, innovative approach on spatial location of storage needs and potentials. This includes the evaluation of concrete challenges and prerequisites as well as the identification of useful storage technologies and capacities. Model calculations for the model cities Graz and Weiz will be carried out. If, and to which extent, the results can be generalized will be investigated in the Follower Region South Burgenland. The results should enable optimized planning and realization of urban energy storage facilities – thereby enabling targeted investments in energy infrastructure to achieve (local) climate and energy targets.
PVOPTI-Ray: Optimierung reflektierender Materialien und Photovoltaik im Stadtraum bezüglich Strahlungsbilanz und Bioklimatik
Im Rahmen des Projektes PVOPTI-Ray wurde der Einfluss der Reflexion und der Strahlungsbilanz in städtischem komplexem Gelände auf die Performance von fassadenintegrierter Photovoltaik (PV) untersucht. Ebenso wurde der Einfluss der Solarmodule und der Strahlungswandlung an Solarmodulen auf das Stadtklima analysiert.
PVOPTI-Ray, Optimization of reflecting materials and photovoltaics in urban environment with respect to energy balance and bioclimate.
Within the scope of the project PVOPTI_Ray the influence of reflection and energy balance on the performance of building integrated photovoltaics (PV) in complex urban environment have been investigated. Equally the influence of PV modules and of the energy conversion of solar energy at the PV module surface has an impact on micro climate and therefore also on pedestrians who are exposed to the radiation fluxes. This was also investigated.
SPACE4free - Sanierung von Gründerzeitkellern zu Wohnungen mit hoher Lebensqualität und minimalem Energieverbrauch
Planung von dauerhaften und schadensfreien Wohnungen mit hoher Lebensqualität und minimalem Energieverbrauch in Souterrainbereichen feuchtebelasteter Keller von Gründerzeithäusern. Durch den Einsatz von innovativen Lüftungssteuerungen wird ein behagliches Raumklima erzeugt. Gleichzeitig wird die Toleranz gegenüber unterschiedlichen Nutzungsarten gewährleistet. Ein Planungstool ermöglicht die Skalierung der Erkenntnisse und somit die Anwendbarkeit auf verschiedenste Planungssituationen.
KLIMDO - Gesamtstädtische Energie- und Klimastrategie der Stadt Dornbirn als Grundlage der Erreichung einer Klimaneutralität 2030
Durch die Erhebung relevanter Datengrundlagen, deren Zusammenführung sowie Verräumlichung in einer gesamthaften Datenbank wurde ein aktuelles und fortführbares System zur gesamtstädtischen Energie- und CO2-Bilanzierung sowie entsprechender KPIs entwickelt. Darauf aufbauend konnten durch verschiedene Szenarien die wesentlichsten Stellhebel zur Erreichung der Klimaneutralität erarbeitet werden. Die zentralen Erkenntnisse fließen in die Erstellung einer gesamtstädtischen Energie- und Klimastrategie ein.
KLIMDO - Urban energy and climate strategy of the city of Dornbirn as basis for achieving climate neutrality by 2030
A central goal of the project is to obtain detailed knowledge of energy consumption, energy consumption flows and energy potentials including spatialization in the entire urban araea of Dornbirn. Based on this data, various scenarios are to be elaborated that map possible developments in the city. Subsequently, the basis for an energy and climate strategy based on the vision of climate neutrality will be prepared.
