Sani60ies - Demonstration of minimally invasive thermal and energetic refurbishment of classic 1950s and 1960s apartment buildings
System development of a façade-integrated building component activation for "warm" refurbishments with high transfer potential to buildings of classic apartment complexes from the 1950s and 1960s. The system is being tested and further developed based on three building projects and demonstrated through broad application (over 200 flats).
ReCon: Development of a resilient hook-and-loop-fastening-system for the adaptable assembly of building components in the building industry
Systemic examination of the hook-and-loop fastener and building component interfaces for the development of a resilient fastening system between parts/components with different functions and lifespan. The desired result serves to verify the fastening system and forms a basis for further research and establishment in the building industry.

Gründerzeit with future - subproject 4: Development of a real estate portfolio management tool for real estate trustees and owners
Development of a portfolio management tool for the administration of real estate technical data and to support the decision-finding process related to renovation of "Gründerzeit" buildings. The management tool will be applied in practice, in the demonstration projects implemented within the flagship project "Innovative Modernisation of Wilhelminian style "Gründerzeit" Buildings". The results will be available in the form of check-lists and guidelines applicable in the decision-finding process related to renovation measures.
Conception of innovative business models for active integration into network of decentraliced units for consumers and producers
Conception of economically and technically reasonable business models for network operators, producers as well as end users who have the chance to come into operation in active distribution networks until 2050.
Renew Building - Competence Building and Knowledge Transfer for Climate-friendly renovation with ecological and renewable materials
The project Renew Building provided knowledge about eco-friendly renovation to the target groups (planners, architects, students of architecture, etc.) through theory and practice classes, lectures, an e-learning platform, and in an online knowledge database.
Development of the first legally compliant verification procedure for plus-energy buildings by a complete revision of the ÖNORMS
Within the project the current Austrian standards concerning building services and building physics have been revised and further developed to provide the designers with standardized calculation algorithms for the design of plus-energy buildings.
Development of a strategy for industrialized serial production of ecological passive houses made out of renewable resources
Development of a strategy for industrialized seria. production of ecological passive solar houses made out of building materials based on renewable resources as foundation for the dissemination of sustainable solutions for the production of prefabricated houses and of single houses.

EKZ - EnergieKompetenzZentrum Großschönau: "Sonnenplatz - 1. European passive house village for test-living" phase of realisation

Integrative approach for the diffusion of the ecologic passive house: village of passive houses for test-living with an Energy Competence Centre on the basis of a sustainable concept for settlement development at Großschönau.
Results of the latest research about thermal use of solar energy in multi-storey housing, prepared for builders and planners

The relevant Know-How in the fields of "sustainable building and energy supply" will be gathered. The information will be transferred to the relevant target groups (building promoters, architects, planners, customers). This will be done during workshops, planning assistance and a catalogue of quality criteria. The focus lies on solar thermal systems for multiple-family houses.
Participation in TASK 25 of the Implementing Agreements on Solar Heating and Cooling of the International Energy Agency (IEA)

Participation in TASK 25 "Solar Assited Air Conditioning of Buildings". Description and Analys of the state of the art, development of a simulation tool, build up and measurement of demonstration plants.
Correlation of the loss in photovoltaic module performance with the ageing behaviour of the backsheets used (2015)

Production and upgrading of fermentation gas at the location Wals-Siezenheim to be feed into the natural gas distribution network
Production and multistage purification process of approx. 150 m³/ h biogas in Wals-Siezenheim. Prove the feasibility of trouble-free feeding of biogas into the natural gas grid of the Salzburg AG within an operation period of 3 years.
SaLüH! Renovation of multi-family houses with small apartments, low-cost technical solutions for ventilation, heating and hot water
New innovative concepts for heating and ventilation were investigated. Very compact heat pumps are developed in such a way that it will be possible to integrate these units into the window parapet or into a prefabricated timber façade.
Investigation into control systems for low emission, high efficiency biomass furnaces for heating residential and office buildings.

Through optimising the control systems of biomass heating systems, energy wastage and pollutant emissions can be reduced considerably. The goal of the project is first to analyse the possible savings that can be made in these areas, using the heat demand scenarios of different "Buildings of Tomorrow". The results of this analysis will lead to the development of an optimised control system which will be tested on a biomass heating system.
