IDsolutions - Solutions for the refurbishment within existing building stock with interior insulation
Short Description
Status:
ongoing
Summary
The building sector will experience strong reorganisation towards refurbishment in the future. In Austria, energy demand for heating and hot water reached their maximum during the last decade. With high quality refurbishment, implemented energy demand can be decreased dramatically (about 50 %).
Securing high quality refurbishment is essential since poorly refurbished buildings will continue wasting energy for decades (lock-in-effect). In addition to standard refurbishing tasks, it seems to be necessary to offer tools to reach climate protection goals within single units. Interior insulation is a suitable technology. The challenge is to bring multiple demands (energy consumption, comfort, hygiene, ecology, sustainability, architecture,..) and requirements (technical aspects, law, monument conservation) together to create optimal solutions. Therefore it is necessary to arrange individual system components (heating, ventilation, interior insulation, ...) to form working model refurbishment solutions.
The development of such solutions is the aim of the project. Not only durability and quality is to be ensured, but also user acceptance. Exemplary refurbishment solutions are optimised in terms of costs, risk or effort. They can be better calculated and economically implemented. As a result market penetration and energy efficiency in the existing building stock may rise. Increasing the rate of refurbishments is the overall aim of the project.
