Sustainable energy supply for Austria
Rapidly increasing energy consumption and decreasing resources of fossil fuels lead to dramatical economical, ecological and social problems. This study identified the feasible long term potential of renewable energy sources. Then ways were developed how to supply the demand for future energy consumption with renewable energy sources, despite increasing energy services.
MuT - Monitoring of urban Technologies: Classification, Specification, Evaluation
In the frame of the project a classification system for Smart City Technologies had beed developed, the relevance of a wide range of technologies in terms of their potential contribution to the development of sustainable and more resilient cities with a high quality of life had beed evaluated and a comprehensive classification of the technical maturity of relevant technologies, technical (sub-)systems and technology-related services had been given.
50 green houses - Development and demonstration of a low-tech façade greening system
Development of a cost-efficient all-in façade greening system („Greening-Toolkit“) including a maintenance concept, involving all trades and processes, for a broad (facing roads) implementation on facades in the urban built environment, combined with a process innovation for simplification of all necessary coordination processes.
GameOpSys - Gamification for optimizing the energy consumption of buildings and higher-level systems
The central goal is the development of a mobile application that enables the energy optimization and planning of buildings, neighborhoods and higher-level energy systems through the participation of the user and the user as a new source of data and information. The development of the application is strongly transdisciplinary and integrates mathematical methods of simulation and optimization as well as psychological aspects of user behavior in order to develop new business models and open up new markets.
EDEN - Developement of a structured data and preparation documentation with a minimized error-proneness for energy performance cerificates.
Current energy performance certificates hold major flaws. Therefore, the presented research initiative aimed at the development of a standardized and easy-to-use, generic Input-Data-Documentation, which ensures the quality of energy certificates for all involved stakeholders. During the development, the documentation had been conducted and for a chosen sample of representative buildings, which is expected to demonstrate the high potential of such a development.
OptiMAS - Optimization of building energy efficiency through model-based energy flow analysis with non-invasive sensors
Using a model-based energy flow analysis supported by non-invasive sensor technologies OptiMAS investigated how to monitor, analyze and optimize existing buildings independent of the installed HVAC systems and automation components. With the OptiMAS approach the optimization potential of individual buildings up to entire areas can be detected, located and tapped by adjustment of system parameters to ensure highest energy and resource efficiency.
Smart.Monitor – SMART city indicators and MONITORing for smart city objectives – based on the example of the Smart City Vienna Framework Strategy
Elaborating and preparing the basic information and data required to conceptualize indicators and a monitoring system for the smart city framework strategy. The results shall support the future monitoring of the Smart City Vienna Framework Strategy.
GEMA – Assessment of the performance of energy-efficient demonstration buildings
In GEMA, the project team will study and analyse the energy consumption of at least 10 commercial and residential buildings in Austria, which include innovative technologies or concepts for minimising their energy requirements. The results will allow for the potential optimal performance in terms of energy, environmental and social indicators of buildings in future construction projects.
Zero Carbon Buildings International - Evaluation and Analysis
Analysis of the performance of a demonstration building on the Philippines and potential for transferability to other developing and newly industrialising countries.
e80^3-Buildings - Sub project 5: Monitoring and dissemination
The content of subproject 5 was the analysis of energy- as well as building-biology-related issues for the evaluation and quality management of the demo-project in Kapfenberg, which involves a high-quality refurbishment to a plus energy house within the program "Haus der Zukunft - Building of Tomorrow". Within this process the user acceptance before, during and after the renovation was elevated and this will be processed for upcoming projects. The environmental quality of the building regarding the choice of materials and measures during the construction phase and the subsequent use of the building was assessed with the help of the TQB-planning and evaluation tool.
BIGMODERN - Subproject 10: Evaluation, Documentation and Ensuring Transferability
The subproject 10 is part of the flagship project BIGMODERN. It is based on the results of subproject SP 7 in which a monitoring concept has been developed. This concept is now implemented through monitoring of different aspects occurring during the first two years of operation of both BIGMODERN demonstration buildings.
"gugler! build & print triple zero" - subproject 9: Monitoring Gugler - Monitoring, evaluation, optimization GUGLER
The project objective is the measurement of relevant building values (energy consumption, ...), the evaluation of these values compared with the intended objectives and the optimization of the system based on the measured data. As a special innovation, monitoring the storage of alternatively generated electricity using photovoltaic and wind energy in the form of compressed air must be considered.
RENEW SCHOOL Austria: Examples and financing models for school renovations
The project aimed at learning from 14 Austrian school buildings, from their financial and cooperation models, meaning successful cooperation between involved parties. The success factors have been derived from these projects and together with 10 best practice schools been published in a brochure. The project supported the Austrian activities in the IEE EU-Projekt RENEW SCHOOL (www.renew-school.eu).
