Fascinating pioneer projects of the Austrian Program on Technologies for Sustainable Development, Sub-Program "Building of Tomorrow", have been filmed over several months. The importance of taking care of ecology and sustainability when constructing houses is demonstrated to a large audience.

ArcheNEO - an energy-autonomous office park in Kitzbühel

ArcheNEO is a highly energy efficient office park, that produces more energy than it needs. It features an integrated energy concept that saves energy, uses renewable energies in combination with electric mobility and batteries as electricity storage and manages energy and was planned and built in Kitzbühel Oberndorf. The demonstration object will be multiplied and exported.

"1000 Passivehouses in Austria" - Passive house object databank

The first joint project of the four IG passive house organisations on behalf of the programme line "Building of Tomorrow" - an initiative of the Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology - for the purpose of setting up a detailed network documentation of 80% of all passive houses in Austria.

aspern + Vienna's Urban Lakeside - sustainable urban development

The focal points of the largest urban development project in Europe are the topics public space and microclimate as well as cross-building energy supply. Landmark projects will be implemented in the areas residential buildings, office/industry buildings and mobility.

"gugler! build & print triple zero" - Subproject 8: Leuchtturm gugler – Ökoeffektive Plusenergiedruckerei

On the basis of the commercial building gugler with 2140 m² useable floor area existing and 3260 m² useable floor area to be built a concept for a 100% recyclable ecoeffective building had been developed.

Office Building WKS - Plus Energy Office Building in Ernstbrunn

The new office building (headquarter) of Windkraft Simonsfeld AG in Ernstbrunn (Lower Austria) is planned as a plus energy building. From this excellent starting conditions it is intended to make seven more steps to explore innovative options for energy plus buildings.

Exhibition "Architecture and Passive House Standard in Austria"

The aim of the exhibition is to show the compatibility of the building quality standard "Passive House-Standard" with the requirements of the best architectural design with well-chosen examples and explanations. In this way these Austrian cultural and technical achievements shall be made more public.

The demonstration project "Technology centre aspern IQ" showed that the energy required for space conditioning (heating, cooling, ventilation, lighting, hot water) can be covered from domestic energy production.

"gugler! build & print triple zero" - Subproject 7: Integrated General Planning

The aim of the subproject 7 is to aggregate a "normal" general planning process with innovative additional services. In the spirit of integrated planning in the design a higher number of design parameters must be resolved. This is different to a classic planning process with linear and chronological lined up add ons.

Einfach:wohnen, integrated concept for multi-storey residential buildings

The aim of the project is to create a base for future social residential housing projects, for further projects and the development of standards in the field of passive and low energy houses.

Competence- and knowledge centre of renewable energies and passive house technology

Arrangement of a passive house village for test living in the context of an innovative settlement expansion. Building up a large dimensioned passive house for consulting, training, exhibitions, research and distribution of passive house technology and know-how in the field of energy efficient and sustainable building.

Evaluation of temperature differentiation on a room-by-room basis in passive house apartments

In the passive house Utendorfgasse a room–by-room temperature control was installed in 11 apartments. The experiences were evaluated from a technological and from a sociological point of view.

aspern Vienna´s Urban Lakeside subproject 8: Overall Project Management Landmark Project "aspern+"

The Overall Project Management of the "Leitprojekt" includes the handling and supervision of the sub-projects, the reporting to the programme management and additionally the preparation and distribution of relevant results. Beyond that the project management is responsible to highlight possible synergies within other projects and to - if necessary - include these within the next steps.

The lead project management provides furthermore for sufficient interlinking between the project partners by monthly, by requirement weekly project workshops. Besides the leading project management represents the project gugler to the outward and takes part in workshops of the program management

Development of basic principles and proposals for highly recyclable constructions. A catalogue with main principles of recyclable designing with a particular focus on material inherent bonding and joint techniques as well as a selection of constructions including ecological benchmarks, calculation of building physics plus costs was created.

ECR Energy City Graz - subproject 3: +ERS - Plus Energy Network Reininghaus Süd

The multifunctional neighbourhood "+ERS - Plus Energy Network Reininghaus Süd" was realized within the urban planning area of Graz-Reininghaus. The project aims to optimize the energy concept of the single buildings as well as of the building cluster in order to achieve a plus-energy standard within the residential neighbourhood.

Rebuilding of the organic farm Achleitner, straw & clay - room climatisation with plants

Rebuilding of a marketing-, store- and processingcenter with an organic freshmart and an organic restaurant in passivhouse quality. Application of regional building materials, an innovatve overall energyconcept, climatisation with plants.
