Based on the selection of suitable demonstration projects in Subproject 1 an innovative concept for passive and active building envelopes and energy supply of so called "Plus Energy Buildings" (renovation) has been developed.
Serielle Sanierung für Häuser in Leichtbauweise
Die Sanierung von Ein- und Zweifamilienhäusern in Leichtbauweise in Österreich bietet ein großes Potenzial zur CO2-Einsparung. In diesem Forschungsprojekt wurde ein Sanierungskonzept auf Passiv- bzw. Plus-Energiehausstandard entwickelt, welches auf Serienfertigung abzielt und besonderes Augenmerk auf die Verwendung ökologischer Baustoffe legt.
Manage_GeoCity: Entwicklung einer Methodik zur koordinierten Nutzung und Bewirtschaftung der oberflächennahen Erdwärme in urbanen Räumen
Anhand der Modellregion Graz wurde eine Methodik für die koordinierte Nutzung und Bewirtschaftung oberflächennaher Erdwärme für Wärme- und Kühlanwendungen sowie saisonaler Speicherung in urbanen Räumen entwickelt. Dabei wurden Grundwasserströmungen, unterschiedliche geologische Verhältnisse, Wärme- und Kühlbedarf, Wärmeeintrag von Solaranlagen und betrieblicher Abwärme und die Möglichkeiten der saisonalen Speicherung von Wärme im Untergrund berücksichtigt.

solSPONGEhigh - High solar fraction by thermally activated components in an urban environment
Within this project the intensive use of thermally activated building elements (TABs) as an additional thermal storage in different buildings, with solar technologies (thermal, PV) preferred for energy supply, was investigated. The aim was to activate and use the thermal storage potential that is immanent in the building elements and thereby achieve solar coverage of the building's heat demand of nearly 100 %.

Sämtliche Leitprojekte und Demonstrationsbauten aus Haus der Zukunft Plus wurden einem gemeinsamen Monitoring unterzogen. Dabei kam es zur Erfassung der Energieverbrauchsdaten, zur Gebäudebewertung mit TQB und zur Erhebung der Akzeptanz bei NutzerInnen.

Panzhauser's proposals, 2001); applying them to characteristic types of buildings systematically selected in diverse municipalities; the achieved results shall serve as good practice examples for future refurbishment and as basis of discussion on subsidy regulations.
Know-How-Plus - Options and constraints of building renovation towards plus energy building standard

Im Rahmen von Syn[En]ergy wurden Synergien und Konfliktpotenziale der PV gegenüber anderen Nutzungen untersucht, planerische Lösungsvorschläge für konkrete Freiflächen unter Berücksichtigung ökonomischer, stadtplanerischer, gestalterischer, rechtlicher und sozialer Aspekte entwickelt und die Ergebnisse gemeinsam mit Stakeholdern aus Wirtschaft, Verwaltung und Gesellschaft bewertet.

Participation in the CEN TC 350/WG4 to develop a standard to evaluate the integrated effectiveness of buildings during their life cycle. Evaluation and integration of national comments in order to prepare the standard for the final vote.
Zukunftstaugliche Komfort-Lüftungssysteme in großvolumigen Wohngebäuden im Spannungsfeld von Hygiene und Kosten
Ziel des Projektes war es, Richtlinien für hygienische und kosteneffiziente Komfortlüftungsanlagen im großvolumigen Wohnbau zu erarbeiten, die klare Wartungs- und Reinigungserfordernisse beschreiben. Diese Richtlinien bauen auf vorhandener Literatur sowie auf Praxiserfahrungen der ProjektpartnerInnen auf, wurden aber letztlich aus Messergebnissen bestehender Komfortlüftungssysteme abgeleitet.
EnergieAudioAkademie - Development and usage of audiofiles for the training of professionals from the building sector
Important issues in building energy efficiency will be prepared as audio files. The target groups are builders and plumbers. The files complement existing training and educational programs and will be disseminated via CDs and/or USB sticks to the target groups via craftsmen networks and an internet platform.
Nachhaltiges Bauen "Made in Austria" - Publikationen zum Monitoring der "Haus der Zukunft"-Demonstrationsgebäude
Mit dem Weißbuch 2015 werden die Ergebnisse des Projekts monitorPLUS und insbesondere die Demonstrationsbauten positiv an die Fachöffentlichkeit kommuniziert. Der Leitfaden "Monitoring von Plusenergiegebäuden" wurde gleichzeitig entwickelt und stellt eine praxistaugliche Anleitung zum Messen, Evaluieren und Auswerten von Gebäuden dar.
Sustainable ventilation systems in multi story residential buildings in the conflict areas of hygiene and costs
The goal of this project was to develop guidelines for hygienic and cost-efficient mechanical ventilation systems in residential buildings, in which maintenance and cleaning demands are described. These guidelines are based on existing literature as well as practical experience of the property owners, finally they are based on results of hygienic measurements in existing ventilation systems conducted in this research project.
