aspern Vienna´s Urban Lakeside - subproject 6b: Monitoring of Energy Consumption in Demonstration Buildings in Seestadt Aspern
The project deals wtih the energy consumption monitoring of demonstration buildings, which are erected within the framework of the landmark project "aspern+". As both, office/manufacturing as well as residential buildings will be constructed, these different user groups will have to be considered. The derivation of the concepts will be done in accordance of the specific needs of the individual demonstration buildings.

Beacon of innovation gugler cross media, ecoeffective zero energy cross media enterprise featuring zero-emission, zero energy, zero waste
The aim of the flagship project is a new dimension of sustainability (cradle to cradle, ecoeffective zero energy enterprise) for business operation and building, which means zero emission, zero energy, zero waste. This will be shown on the basis of a beacon of innovation: Gugler GmbH, a modern sustainable media services enterprise (traditional print and new media) will extend their current building from about 2100 square meters and about 90 employees to about 5,000 square meters.

EDEN - Developement of a structured data and preparation documentation with a minimized error-proneness for energy performance cerificates.
Current energy performance certificates hold major flaws. Therefore, the presented research initiative aimed at the development of a standardized and easy-to-use, generic Input-Data-Documentation, which ensures the quality of energy certificates for all involved stakeholders. During the development, the documentation had been conducted and for a chosen sample of representative buildings, which is expected to demonstrate the high potential of such a development.
Produkt- und Systementwicklung zur thermischen Sanierung von Altbauten durch den Einsatz von magnesitgebundenen Holzwolleleichtbauplatten
Ziel dieses Projektes ist die Überprüfung der Wirksamkeit der magnesitgebundenen Holzwolleleichtbauplatte zur Innendämmung bei der Altbausanierung bzw. das Aufzeigen von Ansatzpunkten für die Weiterentwicklung von Produkten in diesem Einsatzbereich. Dabei werden - parallel in theoretischen Rechenmodellen und in Feldversuchen - ein entsprechendes Klima im Innenraum erzeugend die Auswirk- ungen auf die Behaglichkeit und auf die bestehende Bausubstanz untersucht. Des- weiteren wird eine Beurteilung der Nachhaltigkeit durchgeführt.

Entwicklung von Ansätzen, die dazu führen, dass Rahmenbedingungen bei Generalsanierungen in BIG-Gebäuden die Umsetzung hoher Energieeffizienz- und Nachhaltigkeitsstandards unterstützen. Damit soll sichergestellt werden, dass hochwertige Modernisierungen im BIG-Gebäudebestand zum Standard werden können.
Reduction of cooling requirements through optimized urban structures and processes and design optimisation in building design (smartKB*)
Based on a systematic listing of appropriate methods, recommended actions have been developed to reduce the cooling requirements in new or renovated buildings on three levels: a) optimization and use of appropriate urban structures, b) design strategies and passive measures for building concepts, c) reduction of cooling requirements through integrated planning processes.
Living in the "Sustainable Building of Tomorrow" - Book Publication on User Experiences and Socio-Economic Aspects of Sustainable Buildings

Die erarbeiteten Vorschläge unterstützen Facility-ManagerInnen von Dienstleistungsgebäuden in ihrer Arbeit und berücksichtigen Gender- und Diversitätsfragen.

Development of a new kind of spray-on and plastered noise absorber on the basis of cellulose from recycled paper. The absorber system preferably attenuates the low-frequency range, that can usually only be controlled with rather complex systems, and can also be used where conventional absorbers could cause problems due to impermissible water vapour condensation.

Involvement of the municipality allows to deliver surplus electricity for their needs. Basis of the business model is an analysis of the technical, legal, administrative, user related and economic barriers with participation of stakeholders and to identify best practice solutions.
