MasSan - Machbarkeitsstudie serieller Sanierungskonzepte & -modelle in Österreich
Machbarkeitsstudie zur Darstellung und Analyse der Rahmenbedingungen und Potentiale von seriellen Sanierungen großvolumiger Bauten. Dabei werden die Erkenntnisse aus nationalen Pilot-Projekten sowie von internationalen Projekten und Erfolgsmodellen extrahiert und auf ihre Umsetzbarkeit im österreichischen Kontext geprüft, bzw. die benötigten Erfordernisse für eine schnelle Verbreitung aufbereitet.
LehB:KlimafitDemo2+1 - Leben heute im Bestand: Klimafitte Bestandssanierungen im Rahmen der Wohnungsgemeinnützigkeit
Das Projekt LehB:KlimafitDemo2+1 untersucht innovative Sanierungslösungen zur klimafitten Modernisierung von gemeinnützigen Wohnbauten, ohne die Mieter:innen finanziell zu belasten. Durch die Implementierung eines flexiblen Baukastensystems und die Einbindung der Bewohnerschaft werden wirtschaftliche, technische und soziale Aspekte der Sanierung optimiert. Ziel ist es, durch angepasste Maßnahmen und umfassendes Monitoring einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Erreichung der Klimaneutralität bis 2040 zu leisten.
Zukunft OWA - Otto Wagner Areal: Zukunftsfitte Transformation vom Spital zum NEB-Quartier
Entwicklung qualitativer und quantitativer Planungsziele sowie einer Umsetzungsstrategie für die Transformation des Otto-Wagner-Areals entlang der New European Bauhaus-Leitlinien. Die Basis bilden interdisziplinär besetzte Expert-Foren, welche wichtige Erkenntnisse für die notwendige Transformation von Bestandsgebieten und -gebäuden auch in anderen Städten liefern.
ProzesSan - Prozessinnovationen zur Erhöhung der Dekarbonisierungs- & Sanierungsrate im Wohnbau
Das Projekt soll die Gebäudeeigentümer:innen großer Immobilienbestände bei den Herausforderungen in Bezug auf die Sanierung ihrer Gebäudebestände unterstützen. Zu Beginn werden die verschiedenen Hemmnisse identifiziert und dafür entsprechende Lösungsmöglichkeiten erarbeitet. Diese werden in drei Workshop-Stufen mit den Eigentümer:innen erprobt und daraus ein Workshop-Handbuch samt Leitfaden entwickelt.
Quartier im Bestand - Umsetzungskonzept zur Energieoptimierung in Bestandsquartier Nofels in Feldkirch
Das Projekt zielt darauf ab, den Energieeinsatz im Quartier durch Einsparung, Nachverdichtung, Umrüstung sowie Energiespeicherung zu optimieren. Zudem sollen klimaangepasste Freiräume die Lebensqualität und Resilienz steigern. Die Ergebnisse sollen auf das Stadtgebiet hochskaliert werden und einen wesentlichen Beitrag zur Klimaneutralität leisten.

The exploratory project "Favorite Facade ReUse" has set itself the goal of renovating and thermally upgrading buildings with curtain facades with a maximum proportion of reuse and the greatest possible protection of the residents. The authenticity of the building is preserved, and CO2 emissions are minimized.
LeiSan - Flagship Project: Renovation of the Komposch-Ebene Residential Quarter in Bad Eisenkappel, Carinthia
Exploration for an existing quarter in Bad Eisenkappel with the goal of renovating the building stock, involving the residents, the open space, mobility, and local generation of renewable energy. The result should demonstrate the economic feasibility of a holistic concept for the quarter and serve as a basis for a demonstration project.
Decarb Alt Erlaa - Transformation of Alt Erlaa residential park into a climate neutral district
Exploration of a transformation of the Alt Erlaa residential park into a climate neutral district based on systematic potential analyses regarding structural measures, building technology measures and a sociological monitoring of the transformation process. The result of the exploratory study serves as a starting point for implementing the measures in a follow-up project.
Smart Dag - smart and climate-neutral renovation of the Dag Hammarskjöld housing estate
For a smart and sustainable renovation of the Dag Hammarskjöld housing estate in the city of Klagenfurt, a residential area from the 1950/1960s, the existing housing stock (buildings, green and open space, social structure) will be analysed and assessed based on the "Quartier &Wir" guide. The results are the basis for the launch of an architectural competition. The residents of the area who still live on site and the housing development agency of the department of the provincial Carinthian Government are involved in the feasibility study. The aim is to transfer the results of the study to other renovation projects and thus contribute to achieving the city of Klagenfurt's climate goals.
MasSan - Feasibility study of serial renovation concepts & models in Austria
Feasibility study to present and analyze the framework conditions and potential of serial renovations of large-volume buildings. The findings from the national pilot projects as well as the international / German projects and models are extracted and checked for their feasibility in the Austrian context and the requirements are prepared.
OWA’s future - Otto Wagner Area: A trend-setting transformation from a medical institution into a NEB neighbourhood
Development of qualitative and quantitative planning objectives as well as an implementation strategy for the transformation of the Otto Wagner Area along the New European Bauhaus guidelines. The basis is formed by interdisciplinary expert forums, which provide important insights for the necessary transformation of existing areas and buildings in other cities as well.
LehB:KlimafitDemo2+1 - Living in existing buildings today: climate-friendly renovations in existing buildings within the framework of the common good housing law
The LehB:KlimafitDemo2+1 project examines innovative renovation solutions for the climate-fit modernization of non-profit residential buildings without placing a financial burden on tenants. By implementing a flexible modular system and involving the residents, economic, technical and social aspects of the renovation are optimized. The aim is to make an important contribution to achieving climate neutrality by 2040 through adapted measures and comprehensive monitoring.
ProzesSan - Development of processes to increase the decarbonisation and refurbishment rate in the housing sector
The project aims to assist owners of large property portfolios with the challenges of refurbishing their buildings. The first step is to identify the various obstacles and develop appropriate solutions. These will be tested in three workshop phases with the owners, and a workshop manual and guidelines will be developed.
FluccoSan - Circular energy flexibility for resilient, climate-neutral refurbishments
FluccoSan aims to develop innovative and cost-effective refurbishment solutions for the building sector that contribute to achieving the Austrian federal government's climate targets. The focus is on energy-efficient, minimally invasive and socially acceptable measures, so-called “dynamic renovations”. By integrating the circular economy and social science research, these solutions should ensure long-term sustainability and a high level of acceptance among users. Status: ongoing
Path to the Future (WEG zur Zukunft) - The Path to Implementing a Climate-Resilient Future in Condominium Ownership
The research project "WEG zur Zukunft / Path to the Future" examines the low renovation rates of condominium owners' associations (WEGs) in Austria and the associated communicative, regulatory, organizational, and financial challenges. In collaboration with the affected stakeholders – primarily owners and property management companies – foundations for solutions are being developed through a co-creative process that can assist in the path toward implementation.

Climate communities
Transdisciplinarily developed climate-friendly solutions for decarbonisation of the building stock in small and medium-sized municipalities. The application of the sample solutions will readily identifiable through a web tool.
