The optimal position, dimension and the right storage and conversion technology and an optimal energy wide operation of larger consumer groups were estimated for an urban model region.

The VITALITY project aims to provide supporting tools, design rules and robust information in the early decision and design phase of building projects. By providing the right information at the right time, building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) is part of the discussion in the concept phase and the implementation is strongly prepared and supported.
IEA SHC Task 70: Low Carbon, High Comfort Integrated Lighting
With the goal of decarbonization and sustainability of buildings in the sense of the circular economy, for integrated lighting systems the so far purely energy-based focus must be broadened to include the entire life cycle, with special consideration of visual and non-visual user requirements. The aim of this project was to analyse the technical, economic, and regulatory barriers that hinder a faster market development of such systems, and to propose solutions to support the growing heat market. The multi-purpose apparatus is cheaper and requires less material and space. Less power consumption because of utilistion of the cyclone vortex in the induced draft fan.
IEA HPT Annex 63: Impact of heat pump placement on noise emissions
Noise emissions from heat pumps are a potential barrier for broad market diffusion of this energy efficiency technology, especially in urban areas. In this project, the influences of noise emissions in the building and in the neighbourhood are characterised, their psychoacoustic effects are analysed in more detail, and tools for digitally supporting heat pump placement are further developed. The results will be presented to relevant target groups in the form of guidelines and other documentation.
Update of content and usability for the Manual for Energy Consultants (HfE-New)
The Manual for Energy Consultants had been adapted to present and future needs in energy consulting. The updated manual will preserve the basic concept (buildings with at least close to domestic energy use patterns, up to 1000 m² heated floor area, concentration on refurbishment) and the existing structure: Checklists, data sheets and explanations.

The aim of this project was to develop and evaluate the foundation for the implementation of digital processes for building permit procedures in Styria. The project started with the recording, processing, and validation of the actual processes of building permit procedures of the city of Graz and the municipality of Stainach-Pürgg.
IEA SHC Task 68: Efficient Solar District Heating Systems (Working period 2022 - 2024)
Regarding the use of CO2-free technologies for local/district heating systems, solar technologies in particular offer an efficient option. In this task, the opportunities and challenges are investigated in order to efficiently provide the required temperatures necessary for local/district heating networks through solar technologies, to promote digitalisation, to identify new business models and measures for cost reduction, and to spread the knowledge about the potential of solar district heating systems.
