SYSPEQ - Systemische Lösung zum Betrieb von Plusenergiequartieren
Vollumfängliche Planungskonzepte für Plusenergiequartiere (PEQs) und deren Betrieb als Energiegemeinschaft. Der Fokus liegt auf der Umsetzung im Bestandsbau, insbesondere im Bereich des sozialen/gemeinnützigen Wohnbaus. Finanzierungsoptionen von erneuerbaren Erzeugungsanlagen, Planung und Betrieb eines PEQs (speziell als EG), Vermarktungsmöglichkeiten des Überschussstroms sowie Entwicklung einer Informations- und Vernetzungsplattform sind Teil dieses Projektes. Ein besonderes Highlight ist die praktische Umsetzung eines PEQs und der Betrieb als EG im Demonstrationsquartier Fuchsenloch der Sozialbau.

Full-scale planning concepts for positive energy districts (PEDs) and their operation as energy communities (ECs). The focus is on the implementation in the existing building stock, especially in the area of social/non-profit housing. Financing options for renewable generation units, planning and operation of a PED (especially as an EC), marketing opportunities for surplus electricity and the development of an information and networking platform are part of this project. A special highlight is the practical proof-of-concept in Fuchsenloch, which is a social housing quarter of Sozialbau.
KLIMDO - Gesamtstädtische Energie- und Klimastrategie der Stadt Dornbirn als Grundlage der Erreichung einer Klimaneutralität 2030
Durch die Erhebung relevanter Datengrundlagen, deren Zusammenführung sowie Verräumlichung in einer gesamthaften Datenbank wurde ein aktuelles und fortführbares System zur gesamtstädtischen Energie- und CO2-Bilanzierung sowie entsprechender KPIs entwickelt. Darauf aufbauend konnten durch verschiedene Szenarien die wesentlichsten Stellhebel zur Erreichung der Klimaneutralität erarbeitet werden. Die zentralen Erkenntnisse fließen in die Erstellung einer gesamtstädtischen Energie- und Klimastrategie ein.
KLIMDO - Urban energy and climate strategy of the city of Dornbirn as basis for achieving climate neutrality by 2030
A central goal of the project is to obtain detailed knowledge of energy consumption, energy consumption flows and energy potentials including spatialization in the entire urban araea of Dornbirn. Based on this data, various scenarios are to be elaborated that map possible developments in the city. Subsequently, the basis for an energy and climate strategy based on the vision of climate neutrality will be prepared.

A few years ago, the municipality of Innsbruck set up a Smart City Group consisting of staff from the municipality, IIG, IKB and IVB to address this challenge. The goal of INN'F4UM is to develop a step-by-step plan to achieve climate neutrality for the city by 2030, building on an up-to-date representation of energy and resource flows together with the University of Innsbruck.

GameOpSys - Gamification for optimizing the energy consumption of buildings and higher-level systems
The central goal is the development of a mobile application that enables the energy optimization and planning of buildings, neighborhoods and higher-level energy systems through the participation of the user and the user as a new source of data and information. The development of the application is strongly transdisciplinary and integrates mathematical methods of simulation and optimization as well as psychological aspects of user behavior in order to develop new business models and open up new markets.
greening UP! Nachhaltige Grünpflege, Wartung, Instandhaltung von vertikalen Begrünungen inkl. rechtliche Aspekte
Im Projekt wurden aufbauend auf umfassenden Erhebungen und Analysen von bestehenden vertikalen Gebäudebegrünungen in Außenräumen (boden- und systemgebundene Fassadenbegrünungen) und vertikalen Innenraumbegrünungen passgenaue Grünpflege-, Wartungs- und Instandhaltungskonzepte erarbeitet und rechtliche Aspekte adressiert. Der "greening UP!"-Wissenspool mit konkreten Empfehlungen und anschaulich aufbereitetem Wissen sowie die Konzeption eines digitalen Tools zur "Ersten Grünen Hilfe" runden das Projekt ab.
greening UP! Sustainable green maintenance, maintenance, maintenance of vertical greenery including legal aspects
Based on extensive surveys and analyses of existing vertical building greenery in outdoor areas (floor and system-bound façade greening) and vertical interior greenery, the project developed tailor-made green care, maintenance and repair concepts and addresses legal aspects. The "greening UP!" Knowledge pool with concrete recommendations and clearly presented findings as well as the conception of a digital tool for the "First Green Aid" complete the project.
Cooling LEC - Energieflexible Gebäude durch Steuerung von Kühlanlagen über unidirektionale Kommunikation in Local Energy Communities
An das Stromsystem (insbesondere an das Verteilnetz) werden in Folge des Klimawandels und des Temperaturanstieges insbesondere durch den Anstieg aktiver Kühlsysteme vor allem auf Niederspannungsebene neue Herausforderungen gestellt. Durch die hohe elektrische Leistung von aktiven Kühlaggregaten und die hohe Dichte an Anlagen, die mitunter unkoordiniert und zu ungünstigen Zeitpunkten betrieben werden, entstehen Verbrauchsspitzen im System. Das Projekt Cooling LEC weist daher als übergeordnetes Ziel die Entwicklung und Demonstration einer zentralen Steuerung / Intelligenz von dezentralen aktiven Kühlanlagen über eine Weiterentwicklung der unidirektionalen Kommunikation von Rundsteueranlagen zur Schaffung energieflexibler Gebäude im Sinne des neuen Ansatzes der "Local Energy Communities” durch Schaffung eines "Sondertarifs"aus. Rundsteueranlagen sind seit vielen Jahrzehnten etabliert und bei allen Energieversorgern vorhanden sowie bewährt. Das Upcsaling-Potential ist sehr groß.
Cooling LEC - Energy-flexible buildings by controlling cooling systems via unidirectional communication in local energy communities
As a result of climate change and the rise in temperature, especially due to the increase in active cooling systems, especially at low-voltage level, new challenges are being posed to the electricity system (in particular to the distribution network). Due to the high electrical input of active cooling units and the high density of plants, which are sometimes operated uncoordinated and at unfavorable times, leads to peak consumption in the system. The project Cooling LEC therefore has as its overall objective the development and demonstration of a central control / intelligence of decentralized active cooling systems by further developing the unidirectional communication of ripple control systems to create energy-flexible buildings in the sense of the new approach of "Local Energy Communities" by creating a "special tariff". Ripple control systems have been established for many decades and are available and proven by all energy suppliers. The upscaling potential is very big.

Die Entwicklung der Anwendung erfolgt stark transdisziplinär und integriert dabei mathematische Methoden der Simulation und Optimierung sowie psychologische Aspekte des Nutzerverhaltens um neue Geschäftsmodelle zu erarbeiten und neue Märkte zu erschließen.
