Multi-WP – High-efficiency multivalent heat pump concepts for the thermal use of external air with geothermal storage
Optimization of multi-WP systems consisting of air-source heat pumps and geothermal storage with regard to increasing flexibility and efficiency from 30 kW for individual buildings as well as neighbourhood solutions and addressing aspects such as PV utilization optimization, mode of operation, utilization conflicts and noise pollution from air-source heat pumps. The project will establish the use of the heat source external air in combination with seasonal storage as a particularly efficient alternative for heating, cooling and hot water supply.

The Innovation Lab act4energy is set up as an innovation laboratory project. Its focus is to solve the problems of renewable energies integration with a focus on photovoltaic power paired with local consumption, linked to the the high fluctuation of renewable energies.

Im Zuge des Projekts erfolgte die Konzeptionierung eines Zero-Emission- bzw. REC-Businesspark - Investigation of the first Austrian renewable energy community business and industrial park
In the course of the project, the conceptual design of a zero-emission or plus-energy business park in Weiz with a focus on photovoltaics and fuel cells in combination with a Renewable Energy Community (E-EGe) had been carried out. By establishing the park on a "greenfield", all structures can be created according to the requirements of the E-EGe.
VERTICAL FARMING - Ermittlung der Anforderungsbedingungen zur Entwicklung eines Vertical Farm Prototyps zur Kulturpflanzenproduktion
Im Mittelpunkt stand die Erforschung von Grundlagen für eine neue Gebäudetypologie, der Vertikalen Farm. Urbane vertikale Lebensmittelproduktion kann zur Steigerung der Energieeffizienz von und zur Reduktion des Landverbrauchs durch Städte beitragen. Wesentliche Einflussfaktoren zur Erreichung dieser Ziele werden durch diese Grundlagenforschung offen gelegt.

In the center of interest stands the investigation of fundamental principles for a new building typology – the Vertical Farm. Urban vertical food production can contribute to more energy efficient cities by concurrently reducing land use. Substantial influencing factors to achieve these goals are intended to be revealed.
Wohnen und Arbeiten in der Bildungsgemeinde Moosburg
Ziel war, nicht nur angenehme Wohnsituationen oder funktionierende Arbeitsmilieus zu schaffen, sondern diese Bereiche gezielt zu verbinden und so einen ganzheitlich attraktiven „Lebensraum“ zu generieren. Mehrere zukunftsweisende Piloteinheiten an einem größeren, noch unbebauten Grundstück in fußläufiger Entfernung vom Dorfzentrum wurden umgesetzt.

Der inhaltlich-technologische Fokus der Aktivitäten des zukünftigen Reallabors liegt auf allen energierelevanten Sektoren (Wärme, Strom, Kälte) angewandt auf die Schwerpunkte Energieeffizienz und Ersatz fossiler Energie in Gebäuden, in Gewerbe und Industrie sowie Mobilität.

Clarification of relevant questions for the potential establishment of a real lab in the region of Weizplus, which aims at a 100% supply of the region with renewable energies by 2030. The content-related technological focus of the activities of the future real lab is on all energy-relevant sectors (heating, electricity, cooling) applied to the focal points of energy efficiency and replacement of fossil energy in buildings, in trade and industry as well as mobility.

In the "Green SandboxBuilder" project, for the first time in Austria, the need for regulatory sandboxes for ecologically sustainable and climate-effective projects in the building sector had been systematically explored. The implementation of regulatory sandboxes in the Austrian construction sector can contribute to decisively accelerating the introduction of technological, procedural and social innovations and thus to achieving the sustainability goals.
