The research project examined different forms of communal living of elderly people and contributes to the development of new, common forms of living for the elderly. Questions concerning demographic change and economic as well as ecologic challenges of our time had been dealt with.

Development of a portfolio management tool for the administration of real estate technical data and to support the decision-finding process related to renovation of "Gründerzeit" buildings. The management tool will be applied in practice, in the demonstration projects implemented within the flagship project "Innovative Modernisation of Wilhelminian style "Gründerzeit" Buildings". The results will be available in the form of check-lists and guidelines applicable in the decision-finding process related to renovation measures.

The project objective is the measurement of relevant building values (energy consumption, ...), the evaluation of these values compared with the intended objectives and the optimization of the system based on the measured data. As a special innovation, monitoring the storage of alternatively generated electricity using photovoltaic and wind energy in the form of compressed air must be considered.
