Exhibition "Architecture and Passive House Standard in Austria"

The aim of the exhibition is to show the compatibility of the building quality standard "Passive House-Standard" with the requirements of the best architectural design with well-chosen examples and explanations. In this way these Austrian cultural and technical achievements shall be made more public.

NEST international - New standards for old houses international

The main goal was to raise awareness for energetic renovations of settlement houses due to the handbook "Neue Standards für alte Häuser" in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. In doing so, the refurbishment potential has been identified in the target countries, experiences exchanged and information transferred. Contacts to the relevant target groups have been established.

BIGMODERN - Subproject 11: Dissemination of project results

The project is part of the flagship project BIGMODERN. It aims at disseminating all relevant results of BIGMODERN in a comprehensive and targeted way. It addresses different target groups, such as decision makers inside the BIG Bundesimmobiliengesellschaft, various users of federal buildings and other real estate companies nationally and internationally.

IQ - focal point on information and networking in the field of energy efficient districts

Energy aspects on land use planning were worked up on the basis of research and demonstration projects in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. The target groups from administration, politics, architecture as well as developers and future dwellers were addressed with custom-made events.

Eco.District.Heat - Potentials and restrictions of grid-bound heating systems of urban areas

Aim of the project Eco.District.Heat is to provide strategic decision-making support that enables Austrian towns and cities to deal with aspects of grid-bound heating (and cooling) systems in accordance with integrated spatial and energy planning from a holistic perspective when elaborating urban energy concepts.

Knowledge into school - Development of teaching materials for technical and vocational school

The main objective of the project is to produce teaching-materials based on Ecobuilding ("sustainable building") for secondary schools / technical schools (Berufsbildende Höhere Schulen and Berufsschulen) in cooperation with school stakeholders (education experts) and by using e-learning platforms.

Information-point for renewable and environmental/ecological materials

An internet platform with full information and detailed data about building materials made of renewable resources, which serves as the central information-point for different stake holders - from private house builders over architects and master-builders to experts in the field of building laws and regulations.

PassiveHouseDataBase - International Passive House and Passive House Plus Database

About 3.000 buildings are documented, all of them show a high level of comfort and follow energy and building technique standards for passive houses and plus-passive houses. By integration of object and evaluation data, the database will become the worldwide basis for extremely energy efficient buildings and because of its multilingualism and quality assurance opens up new sustainable export possibilities.

Analysis and evaluation of structural additional costs for passive house projects

Structural extra costs of passive houses decide whether these will become accepted at the market. Within the project the costs of several "Building of tomorrow" passive houses were compared. The results enable estimations for future passive house projects.

Transfer conference "Alpine hut of Tomorrow" pilot project "Schiestlhaus"

The aim of the event was an open in-depth discussion with and for experts of the alpine clubs in order to evaluate the pilot project "Schiestlhaus" and to identify usable approaches for sustainable buildings in the alpine area.

URSOLAR - Optimization of SOLAR energy usage in URban energy systems

URSOLAR provides decision makers with a roadmap for the integrated use of solar energy in urban environments. The roadmap shows, how photovoltaics- and solar-thermal installations can be used in an ecological, economical and socially optimal way whilst considering legal requirements as well as infrastructural conditions in typical city quartiers and stakeholder interests.
