MOTIVE – Modeling, Optimizing, and technical integration of Vacuum-Glazing-Elements
This project addressed the development of construction details for the implementation of vacuum glazing panels in new windows. In this project such constructions (form of frame, thermal bridges, structural aspects, mounting of glass) were explored via empirical experiments and via simulation. As an outcome, a mock-up was constructed, and the findings were documented in a comprehensive document.
PHplusCAD, IT-gestützte effiziente Passivhaus- und Plusenergiehaus-Projektierung
Erarbeitung von Grundlagen und Programmierung einer Software (PHplusCAD), welche den Aufwand in der Passivhaus- und Plusenergiehausplanung reduziert. Dies wird zum einen durch die Direktübernahme von CAD-Daten, zum anderen durch eine moderne bibliotheksgestützte Definition der Qualität der thermischen Gebäudehülle, sowie durch die Direktübergabe von Daten an bestehende Passivhausplanungstools erreicht.
SeasonalGridStorage - Innovative saisonale Wärmespeicher für urbane Wärmenetze
Die derzeit in Fernwärmenetzen eingesetzten sensiblen Speicher zur saisonalen Speicherung von überschüssiger Wärme (z.B. Solarthermie, industrielle Abwärme) weisen einen hohen Raumbedarf sowie hohe Investitionskosten und Wärmeverluste auf. In diesem Projekt wurden Konzepte zur Nutzung innovativer Speichertechnologien, wie thermochemische Speicher (TCS) mit hohen Energiedichten und der Möglichkeit der druck- und verlustlosen Speicherung entwickelt und mit Hilfe von Simulationsrechnungen in technischer, ökologischer und wirtschaftlicher Hinsicht untersucht sowie rechtliche Randbedingungen bewertet.

Maintenance costs for central air ventilation systems are approximately 0,42 Euro/m².a excluding VAT, for decentralized systems 1,16 Euro/m².a excluding VAT. 50% savings in operating costs of apartment passive houses opposed to apartment low-energy buildings [SCH11] can be achieved with maintenance costs of around 0,42 Euro/m².a.

The energy concept led Gugler in frame of the conversion and expansion of the company towards plus-energy standard. Significant measures ware a consequent maximum reduction of the energy demand, optimal utilisation of industrial waste-heat, maximum consumption of on-site energy sources, integrated energy production, ecologic load management with comprehensive response- and storage-techniques.
