NEST international - New standards for old houses international
The main goal was to raise awareness for energetic renovations of settlement houses due to the handbook "Neue Standards für alte Häuser" in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. In doing so, the refurbishment potential has been identified in the target countries, experiences exchanged and information transferred. Contacts to the relevant target groups have been established.

The objective of this project is to explore mechanical insulant-fixing connections. Unconventional but concrete fixing techniques are the focus of the investigation. The use of insulants as "lost" casing will also be studied in depth.

By the foundation of the baubook GmbH in 2008 the two databases of building products "öbox" and "ixbau.at" have been merged. The new database baubook was expanded. Essential functions (central product declaration, decentral quality management) and fields of products were added.

The project goal was the development of an integrated, long term and life cycle oriented approach to sustainable modernisation of historical building stocks. The many housing estates of detached houses in Austria built in the times of economic crisis between the wars and post-war as part of publicly funded housing programmes are the starting point for this research project. The aim is to offer detailed guidelines with basic planning principles for the renovation of these housing estates with detached houses, aiming to reach the standard of a low-energy house or a passive house.

Within the project the current Austrian standards concerning building services and building physics have been revised and further developed to provide the designers with standardized calculation algorithms for the design of plus-energy buildings.

Development of a portfolio management tool for the administration of real estate technical data and to support the decision-finding process related to renovation of "Gründerzeit" buildings. The management tool will be applied in practice, in the demonstration projects implemented within the flagship project "Innovative Modernisation of Wilhelminian style "Gründerzeit" Buildings". The results will be available in the form of check-lists and guidelines applicable in the decision-finding process related to renovation measures.
