The project BauModern turned to non-profit and commercial housing developers and real estate managements. In close co-operation with the federations of the housing and real estate economy has been achieved that builders are informed about market-suited innovative technologies and concepts and use these strengthened for their projects both in the new building and in the refurbishment.

Ein Wettbewerb für die Herstellung von Fertighäusern in verdichteter Bebauung lieferte unterschiedliche Entwürfe und Vorschläge für dessen technische Realisierung. Die Ergebnisse wurden prämiert und publiziert, um die Motivation für den Markteinstieg in diesem Bereich zu erhöhen.

Die Studie analysiert das Innovationsgeschehen in der Bau- und Wohnungswirtschaft allgemein sowie auf nachhaltiger Ebene. Innovationstreiber und -hemmnisse werden aufgezeigt, Nachhaltigkeits-Benchmarks, Key-Performance Indikatoren für die Wohnungswirtschaft wurden entwickelt, Handlungsbedarf und Lösungsvorschläge für eine stärkere Verbreitung von Bauinnovationen vor allem vor dem Hintergrund der neuen Energiestrategie 2020 identifiziert.

Structural extra costs of passive houses decide whether these will become accepted at the market. Within the project the costs of several "Building of tomorrow" passive houses were compared. The results enable estimations for future passive house projects.
