IEA Bioenergy Task 37: Energy from Biogas and Landfill Gas (Working Period 2013 - 2015)
The Austrian representatives participated in the expert group „IEA Bioenergy Task 37 – Energy from Biogas“ for the period 2013-2015. Their main tasks was the work on the technical brochures on biogas plant monitoring, digestate processing and the evaluation of pretreatment technologies. In addition, they participated in the knowledge exchange of the participating countries.
IEA Bioenergy Task 33: Gasification of Biomass and Waste (Working Period 2016 - 2018)
The objectives of Task 33 are to monitor, review and exchange information on biomass and waste gasification research, development, and demonstration and to promote cooperation among the participating countries and industry to eliminate technological impediments to the advancement of thermal gasification of biomass and waste.
IEA Bioenergy Task 42: Biorefining - Sustainable Processing of Biomass into a Spectrum of Marketable Bio-based Products and Bioenergy (Working Period 2010 - 2012)
Further development of the biorefinery classification system, identification of relevant biomaterial, development potential for energy and product oriented biorefineries, guideline for sustainability evaluation, global perspective on biorefineries, dissemination of knowledge, networking and involvement of stakeholders, country reports and trainingscourse.Kurzfassung
New solvents and processes for post-combustion CO2 capture
New and better solvents for CO2 absorption can reduce the costs of Carbon Capture and Storage significantly. Therefore, the ability to absorb CO2 and the vapour - liquid equilibrium curve of different new solvents will be determined in the laboratory and under real operating conditions at a power plant. Furthermore, the achievable CO2 removal efficiency of spray towers will also be investigated for different solvents.
Production of bioethanol from lignocelluloses using steam explosion
By means of suitable thermomechanical pretreatment a process for the production of bioethanol on the basis of the waste compounds straw and wood will be developed. Regional plants will use local raw materials for local energy production.
"Emerging Sustainability" - Summeracademy `09 for sustainable management
"Heading towards Sustainability" is the central motto for a six-day summer academy. During July 2009 "Emerging Sustainability" will offer an inspiring and activating framework for learning how to successfully implement sustainable development in companies.
IEA Bioenergy Task 39: Commercializing Conventional and Advanced Liquid Biofuels from Biomass. (Working Period 2013 - 2016)
The aim of Task 39 „Liquid Biofuels“ is to provide information and analyses on technology development as well as on policy issues and markets to provide scientific background for political and economical decisions. Task 39 initiated mutual R&D projects, to improve the economics of advanced technologies, to exploit new feedstocks and to gain knowledge for the developments after 2020.
Future perspectives of bioenergy development in Asia
05. - 07. September 2018
Tokyo, Japan - NEDO branch office (Daido-Seimei Kasumigaseki Bldg 12F, 1-4-2 Kasumigaseki Chiyodaku Tokyo, 100-0013)
Within the IEA Bioenergy Agreement, Task 32: Biomass Combustion and Co-firing works on further expansion of the use of biomass combustion for heat and power generation, with special emphasis on small and medium scale CHP plants and co-firing biomass with coal in traditional coal-fired boilers. This is done by generating and disseminating information on technical and on non-technical barriers and anticipated solutions.
SKIN - Concept for a product service system in the area of surface treatment
Development of a concept for a product service system (PSS) in the area of surface treatment (varnish, laquer, paint). Instead of selling varnish and pain, the service of surface treatment (per square meter) should be developed for private and commercial users.
Workshop: Health, Safety, and Environment of Biomass Gasification
28. Sep 2005
Hilton Innsbruck Hotel, Salurner Strasse 15A-6010, Innsbruck, AT
Biomass gasification is a promising technology, which can contribute to develop future energy systems which are efficient, safe in design and operation and environmental friendly.
