IEA SHC Task 32: Advanced Heat Storage Concepts
IEA SHC Task 32 deals with advanced storage concepts for low energy buildings. In the project storages based on phase change materials are used in solar combisystems, in order to reduce the emissions and increase the efficiency of biomass- and gas boilers and to increase the solar fraction
Actuator based combustion optimization for fine dust reduction
By additive use of actuators in combination of adaptive algorithms a multi-functional logic for fine dust reduction in thermal gasification boiler systems for wood-combustion has to be developed in the context of a thesis at the TU-Graz.
Feed-in and system integration of biogas in existing gas grids
Method for assessment of technological aspects of biogas supply to existing gas grids. Definition of characteristic numbers for quantitative an qualitative analysis. Aspects of systems integration.
Wood Plastic Composites - New property profile by refiner fibres
The mechanical properties and thus the application area of wood plastic composites with a wood content > 60 % shall be explicit increased by means of long wood fibres. The realization of a technological direct feeding system in extrusion process will enable an innovation jump of this wood like material.
IEA IETS Task 17: Membrane processes in biorefineries (Working period 2023 - 2025)
Biorefineries are essential for the transition from petroleum- to a biobased industry. The use of biomass as raw material for recyclable materials, chemicals and energy sources is essential and requires efficient and sustainable production processes. This project aims to strengthen national and international know-how transfer between research and development for membrane-based processes in biorefineries. The focus is on application, improvement and innovation in all aspects of membrane distillation.
IEA IETS Annex 11: Industrial Biorefineries (Working period 2020-2022)
With the increasing market share of bio-based products, the concepts of circular economy are highly relevant for the industry. In this context, biorefineries have established themselves as an explicitly integrative, multi-functional overall concept and essential hub in the use of biomass as a raw material source for the sustainable production of various (intermediate) products (chemicals, valuable materials, energy carriers).
IEA PVPS Task 14: Solar PV in the 100% Renewable Energy Source based Power System (working period 2018 - 2024)
The IEA-PVPS Task 14, which was completed in 2024, promoted international cooperation to create the technical basis for a 100% renewable energy-based electricity supply with photovoltaics as a central pillar. The task focused on integral approaches for the operation and planning of power supply systems with photovoltaics, as well as integration into smart grids, with the aim of using the energy generated optimally and efficiently to cover consumption.
IEA-PVPS Task 13: Performance, Operation and Reliability of Photovoltaic Systems (Working period 2018 - 2021)
The IEA Task 13 develops independent, internationally valid analyses and recommendations for the operation and reliability of PV systems and their components. The continuation of the Austrian participation ensures the flow of information back to the Austrian photovoltaic industry through international cooperation and strengthens Austria as a location for innovation and production.
Bioenergy and Sustainable Development - Climate Change Mitigation and Opportunities for Sustainability Co-Benefits
23. - 24. May 2022
Online, AT
The aim of this e-Workshop is to provide practical information to qualify the contributions of bioenergy to climate change mitigation, highlight the opportunities and co-benefits of biomass supply chains (beyond energy provision) and open the prospects of stimulating such co-benefits and managing trade-offs.

Exhibition: BIOENERGY WORLD AMERICAS 2006- Brazil
29. Nov 2006 -
3. Dec 2006
Parque de Exposições de Salvador Salvador, BR
Bioenergy World Americas is a new event for the Americas which follows the success of Bioenergy World Europe. This exhibition is dedicated to the further development of bioenergy in the Latin American region and comes in the wake of a significant increase in the uptake of bioenergy the world over.
IEA IETS Task 17: Membrane processes in biorefineries (Working period 2024 - 2025)
Membrane technologies in biorefineries are essential for industrial development in order to enable the transition to a bio-based industry. Biomass as a raw material requires efficient processes. The IEA IETS Task XVII (24-26) project promotes the transfer of know-how between research, industry and membrane manufacturers for resource-efficient applications. The national task strengthens the Austrian research landscape through networking activities.
LINE-FEED - Plug-in Photovoltaic Storage for the Wall Socket
The project LINE-FEED developed technologies that are required for a photovoltaic storage system which can be installed by anybody by simply plugging it into a wall socket. The aim was to create a storage system for households in urban areas that do not have the possibility to install a photovoltaic system themselves.
IEA PVPS Task 15: Builiding integrated Photovoltaic (Working period 2019 - 2023)
The IEA PVPS Task 15 promotes building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) by overcoming technical and non-technical barriers. Despite its potential, BIPV remains largely underutilised due to economic, legal and normative barriers, lack of knowledge transfer and business models. Task 15.2 addresses these issues through research exchange and bridging gaps between BIPV stakeholders to accelerate the implementation and market penetration of BIPV.
IEA PVPS Task 15: Enabling Framework for the Acceleration of BIPV (Working period 2024 - 2027)
Photovoltaics in general, and thus also the integration of photovoltaics into buildings (BIPV), represents a key component in the energy system of the future. The issues of land consumption for PV and dual use are now making BIPV increasingly important. Solutions for photovoltaics integrated into the building envelope are therefore increasingly becoming the focus of the construction industry.
