Österreich liegt, was die Nutzung erneuerbarer Energieträger betrifft, europaweit im Spitzenfeld. Bis 2020 sollen 34 % des Endenergieverbrauchs aus Erneuerbaren Energien gedeckt werden. Im Strombedarf deckt Österreich heute bereits rund zwei Drittel aus Erneuerbaren.

Personal Power Plant
The application of PEM fuel cells is limited to certain singular products. The reason for this are the relatively high prices for the components of a PEM fuel cell. It is the aim of this project to fabricate the components of a PEM fuel cell by using mass production technologies such as injection moulding. In sequence this will lead to wide-spread applications of PEM fuel cells (personal-power-plant).
EMA Mikro-Makro-Link
Focus of the project was the harmonisation of disclosure reqirements to statistical agencies regarding material and energy consumption, environmental investments and expenditure with the IFAC guidance document on environmental management accounting and the GRI guideline regarding sustainability performance indicators.
IEA Energy Efficient End-use Equipment (4E)
The activities of IEA 4E TCP are carried out in four platforms and joint ExCo projects. The active Platforms are: Electric Motor Systems (EMSA), Sustainable Lighting and Controls (SSL), Efficient, Demand Flexible Networked Appliances (EDNA) and Power Electronic Conversion Technology (PECTA).
GIPV-Balcony-Element
Under the basic principle GIPV as "energy source balcony" this project should help covering a part of the electricity needs from renewable energy. By integrating the already preassembled PV elements into the balcony construction, the elements for the final assembly range up to 4 meters. The aim is to win besides private persons also particularly the gastronomy, especially the hotel sector (in tourist regions) as well as the housing sector (e.g. via architects) as customers.
QB3R – Quality controlled high‐performance components consisting of 100% bio‐based resins with high potential in repair and recycling
The QB3R project aims to develop an epoxy resin system having a 100% bio‐based carbon content. The QB3R resin will be processable with various different manufacturing techniques resulting in high performance components for long‐lasting material goods.
KLIMADEMO VIS-A-VIS: Partizipative Realisierung eines klimaneutralen Demonstrationsgebäudes Vis-à-Vis
Partizipative Entwicklung eines Pilotprojekts an der Schnittstelle zwischen Klimaneutralität, Leistbarkeit und mehrgeschoßigem Holz-Wohnbau anhand fundierter Entscheidungsgrundlagen hinsichtlich nachwachsender Materialien und regenerativen Energien. Ergebnisse sind ein klimaneutrales Leuchtturm-Projekt und die Verbreitung von Wissen zu Klimaneutralität an ein größeres Publikum.
KLIMADEMO VIS-A-VIS: Participatory realization of a climate-neutral demonstration building Vis-à-Vis
Participatory development of a pilot project at the interface between climate neutrality, affordability and multi-storey wooden housing based on well-founded decision-making bases in terms of renewable materials and renewable energies. The result is a multipliable carbon neutral building and the dissemination of carbon neutrality know-how to a larger audience.
