aspern Vienna´s Urban Lakeside - subproject 6b: Monitoring of Energy Consumption in Demonstration Buildings in Seestadt Aspern

The project deals wtih the energy consumption monitoring of demonstration buildings, which are erected within the framework of the landmark project "aspern+". As both, office/manufacturing as well as residential buildings will be constructed, these different user groups will have to be considered. The derivation of the concepts will be done in accordance of the specific needs of the individual demonstration buildings.

The "oh456 Plus Energy Office Building" with its adjoining small hydro-electric power plant shall serve as a prototype for testing innovative technologies and also provide the companies residing in the building integral home surroundings comprising common break and leisure facilities. A wide public will have access to the building which will be a location for the most diverse events, exhibitions and lectures on climate protection as well as being a joint promotional platform for sustainable construction.

The research project "WEG zur Zukunft / Path to the Future" examines the low renovation rates of condominium owners' associations (WEGs) in Austria and the associated communicative, regulatory, organizational, and financial challenges. Climate-School-Life - Preparation of the climate-neutral educational campus in Gratwein-Straßengel

The project aims to start the transformation process of the educational campus of the market town of Gratwein-Straßengel into climate-neutrality. The need for the expansion and modernisation of the elementary school forms the central part of this development. The project provides an integrated district concept for the four central infrastructure topics of the project: urban development, architecture, mobility and energy. Participation processes of the population and innovative financing models are further components of the exploration.

Klimagärten³ - Biodiverse, CO2-saving, close to nature: climate gardens³ for Austria's garden future

The Klimagärten³ project is dedicated to the climate-friendly design of gardens and green spaces in Austria. The focus is on activating the previously untapped climate protection potential of private and public gardens. Through research, practical trialling and social networking, ways are shown in which gardens can act as CO₂ sinks and strengthen biodiversity.
