Energieforschungsstrategie für Österreich Vorschläge für Maßnahmen im Bereich Forschung, Technologie und Innovation
Im Rahmen des Strategieprozesses e2050 wurde vom BMVIT (heute BMK) gemeinsam mit dem Rat für FTE unter Einbindung zahlreicher Experten und Expertinnen aus Industrie und Forschungseinrichtungen ein Experten/Expertinnenpapier "Energieforschungsstrategie für Österreich" erarbeitet. Ziel dieses Strategiepapiers ist es, die wichtigsten Aspekte einer umfassenden Energieforschungsstrategie zusammenzufassen, um eine Basis für die notwendige Diskussion von Maßnahmen zur Energieforschung zu schaffen und gleichzeitig auch einen Input für die "Energiestrategie Österreich" zu liefern.

Die Mitgliedschaft bei der Internationalen Energieagentur (IEA) verpflichtet Österreich zur jährlichen Erfassung aller in Österreich durchgeführten Forschungs- und Entwicklungsprojekte im Energiebereich. Diese jährliche Erhebung stellt nicht nur eine internationale Verpflichtung dar, sondern erlaubt es auch, die Bedeutung der Energieforschung für Österreich herauszuarbeiten sowie Schwerpunktsetzungen zu gestalten und zu überprüfen.
