SMARTIES - SMART Innovative Energy Services - Analysis of requirements of smart energy-services
The emerging development of smart grids provides market opportunities for new ICT-based services ("smart value-added services"). Economic and organizational barriers are foreseeable that could affect the establishment of business models and service providers (data formats, connectivity, controllability, etc.). Develop criteria of aesthetics and social inclusion based on the values of the New European Bauhaus to complement existing sustainability criteria in order to evaluate buildings and neighbourhoods more broadly. Since todayʼs necessary transformation of the economy always includes cultural and social aspects, such a broader assessment makes more sense than todayʼs usual methods.
Autology - the automated ontology generator
Ontologies form the basis for the acquisition, analysis/processing, utilization, documentation, and archiving of building and component data throughout all stages of the lifecycle. Currently, the semantic description and structuring of data can only be achieved with significant manual effort. At this point, the Autology project utilizes Artificial Intelligence. The overarching project objective is the automated extraction and generation of metadata for the creation of ontologies from the building automation system, employing innovative AI-based approaches.

RENEW SCHOOL Austria: Examples and financing models for school renovations
The project aimed at learning from 14 Austrian school buildings, from their financial and cooperation models, meaning successful cooperation between involved parties. The success factors have been derived from these projects and together with 10 best practice schools been published in a brochure. The project supported the Austrian activities in the IEE EU-Projekt RENEW SCHOOL (www.renew-school.eu).
