Webinar - Blockchain Applications: an Energy Perspective
12. April 2022
Via Zoom, Paris, FR
This webinar will illustrate how blockchains work, how cryptocurrencies and other applications employ the blockchain, and why the resulting energy consumption is so high. A potential solution to significantly reduce the energy consumption used for validation will also be presented.
Analysis of the sealing water costs in the paper- and pulp industry
From all information should be made a tool for soul-searching, which allows all operators of pumps to calculate the possible reduction of costs (energy, cost of operaton, amount of fresh water, ...).
URSOLAR - Optimization of SOLAR energy usage in URban energy systems
URSOLAR provides decision makers with a roadmap for the integrated use of solar energy in urban environments. The roadmap shows, how photovoltaics- and solar-thermal installations can be used in an ecological, economical and socially optimal way whilst considering legal requirements as well as infrastructural conditions in typical city quartiers and stakeholder interests.
Ecobuilding - Building Optimisation with Total Quality (TQ) Assessment
The construction, use, and disposal of buildings cause expenses, material flows, energy consumption, and emissions. With intelligent design, construction, management, and marketing, it is possible to reduce environmental burdens and costs, improve building quality, and increase building value.

Semi-manual dismantling of small electric and electronic equipment
Improving the tecnology of manual dismantling processes of small electric and electronical appliances, used in social enterprises. Via software modules, developed do analise dismantling processes, from dismantling-factories to dismantling-parks.
"gugler! build & print triple zero" - subproject 2: building with recycros
Building with recycros is working out basics in order to close the cycle of materials in the building sector as well as to increase the usage of recycled materials (recycros). The existing material cycles in the building sector are going to be analysed. Furthermore, there will be a catalogue presented, covering the actual situation of which materials are used in today´s engineering and how the waste is treated. The project will be completed with a summary of results and a proposal of concrete materials and constructional systems for the building project gugler.
Gründerzeit with future - subproject 5: Documentation and monitoring
The main aim is the documentation and monitoring of the demonstration projects within the scope of the project "Historical buildings of tomorrow" with regard to the technical implementation, investment and operation costs and to the energetic performance. All demonstration projects will be accompanied by an evaluation process regarding occupants' satisfaction and the refurbishment process. Beyond that, legal constraints for innovative refurbishment of historical buildings will be documented and proposals for adaptations of the rental law and refurbishment subsidy schemes will be developed.
