The objective of EOR TCP is to disseminate the results of research and development for efficient use of hydrocarbon reservoirs. The EOR TCP supports national efforts to reduce costs of existing technologies and to research new technologies to enhance reservoir oil recovery.
IEA Action Network "Intelligent Energy Systems": International Smart Grid Action Network (ISGAN TCP)
ISGAN is an international network for the development and exchange of expertise on smart, clean, flexible and resilient power grids ("smart grids"). ISGAN provides a platform for the communication of international experiences, trends and insights for the implementation of smart grid solutions in decarbonized energy systems of the future.

We provide sound scientific information and technology assessments facilitating informed and science-based decisions regarding advanced motor fuels on all levels of decision-making.
The mission of the Wind TCP is to stimulate co-operation on wind energy research and development and to provide high quality information and analysis to member governments and commercial sector leaders. The focus lies on technology development and deployment, as well as market and policy instruments.
Founded in 1991, the remit of the GHG TCP is to evaluate options and assess the progress of carbon capture and storage, and other technologies that can reduce greenhouse gas emissions derived from the use of fossil fuels, biomass and waste. The aim of the TCP is to help accelerate energy technology innovation by ensuring that stakeholders from both the public and private sectors share knowledge, work collaboratively and pool resources to deliver integrated and cost-effective solutions.
The IEA Experts Group (EGRD) was established by the Committee on Energy Research and Technology (CERT). It examines analytical approaches to energy technologies, policies, and research and development and evaluates the benefits of RTI policies. Its results and recommendations feed into IEA analysis, and enable a broad perspective of energy technology issues.
The construction sector has great potential to reduce its energy consumption and the associated environmental impacts. Therefore. the IEA EBC Annex 72 focuses on the harmonization of methods for the assessment of construction-specific and operational environmental impacts (primary energy requirements, greenhouse gas emissions and otherindicators) throughout the life cycle of buildings.
IEA IETS Annex 17: Membrane filtration for energy-efficient separation of lignocellulosic biomass components
The overarching goal of IEA IETS TCP Annex 17 is to strengthen the network of the Austrian membrane and biorefinery landscape.
IEA SHC Task 49/IV focussed ist work on important research questions on solar process heat within the three subtasks: Process heat collectors, their application, comparison and possible standarization; Process Integration and process intensification as required interlinkage between solar heat and production processes; Design Guidelines, case studies and promotion as key for market penetration.
Given the considerable implications of occupants' presence and behavior for buildings’ performance, IEA EBC Annex 66 aims to set up a standard occupant behavior definition platform, establish a quantitative simulation methodology to model occupant behavior in buildings, and understand the influence of occupant behavior on building energy use and the indoor environment.
Retrofitting of non-residential buildings with energy efficient daylight and artificial lighting solutions can significantly contribute to reductions in electric energy consumption. However, appropriate technologies have to be made available to the stakeholders (investors, industry, consultants, designer) that are involved in the retrofitting process. Thus, system solutions for daylighting and artificial lighting were evaluated, simple rating and evaluation tools were developed and case studies that serve as best practice examples were monitored. The results were collected in the Lighting Retrofit Advisor, which helps stakeholders within the lighting retrofit process.
Enhance the international collaborative efforts which facilitate the role of photovoltaic solar energy as a cornerstone in the transition to sustainable energy systems. The IEA PVPS programme aims to realise its mission through objectives related to reliable PV power system applications, contributing to sustainability in the energy system and a growing contribution to CO2 mitigation.
In the AFC TCP, both technology-oriented R&D activities (polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells, solid oxide fuel cells, electrolysers) as well as analysis to implement fuel cells in commercial applications (stationary and mobile applications) are carried-out. System investigations and modelling complement the activities of this TCP.
IEA EBC Annex 55: Reliability of Energy Efficient Building Retrofitting - Probability Assessment of Performance & Cost (RAP-RETRO)
The scope of the project is to develop and provide decision support data and tools for energy retrofitting measures. The tools will be based on probabilistic methodologies for prediction of energy use, life cycle cost and functional performance. The impact of uncertainty on the performance and costs will be considered. Methods based on probability give powerful tools that can provide us with reliable ranges for the outcome.
4E TCP promotes energy efficient end use equipment. It focuses on electric motor systems, electric household products, lighting, electronic devices and networks as well as power electronic conversion.
