Housing 4.0 - digital platform for affordable living
The main aim of this project is the development of an integrated framework for the digital platform "Housing 4.0"; thus supporting integrated planning and project delivery through coupling various digital tools and databases. Thereby, the potentials of BIM for modular, off-site housing assembly in order to improve planning and construction processes, reduce cost and construction time and allow for mass customization will be explored. The novel approach in this project is user-involvement; which has been neglected in recent national and international projects on off-site, modular construction, supported by digital technologies.
Intensified Density - a small scale densification strategy for the suburbs by using modular construction
The project investigated whether a small scale densification strategy for the suburbs / intermediary cities, using modular construction, and existing infrastructure on empty plots of land, can offer a competing alternative to not only the sprawl of single family dwellings but also to large projects.
8th European Combustion Meeting (ECM 2017)
18. - 21. April 2017
Hotel Valamar Lacroma in Dubrovnik, Croatia
The main objective of ECM 2017 is to bring together the researchers, scientists, engineers and students to exchange and share their experiences, new ideas, and research results about all aspects of combustion science and technology.
Digital Submission - Preparation of planning and decision-making processes, digitisation of building permit procedures (D-SUB)
The aim of this project was to develop and evaluate the foundation for the implementation of digital processes for building permit procedures in Styria. The project started with the recording, processing, and validation of the actual processes of building permit procedures of the city of Graz and the municipality of Stainach-Pürgg.

Setting-up of a nitrofilm depot with optimized use of renewable energies
old house? old house!

The renovation and restructuring of existing housing stock using modern, ecologically efficient building technology as a means for developing Assisted Living Centres for senior citizens within an urban context
Joining Cards - Investigation of de-constructable fastening and joining techniques for the development of mono-material interior systems made of cardboard
Strategic examination of cardboard products and paper-based materials for the development of de-constructible interior systems and the definition of building components and their interfaces. The result forms the basis for further research projects in the form of a comprehensive knowledge gain.
Cool Windows - Windows with shading optimising the trade-off between summery overheating, wintery heat protection and adequate illumination
Windows with their associated components such as sun and glare protection are optimised as a holistic building equipment unit regarding different seasonal requirements in light of the climate crisis. The results serve as a basis for new developments in the window and shading technology in order to provide summery and wintery heat protection as well as adequate natural illumination over the year.
Salzburg:KanS - Salzburg: Climate-neutral city
Salzburg:KanS aligns the vision and climate protection goals of the city of Salzburg with the climate neutrality targets of the province and estimates the sector-specific CO2 reduction contributions until 2030. Based on these contributions, the project develops implementation strategies for the entire city as well as the focus areas of “climate-neutral mobility” and “climate-neutral neighborhoods”.
SmartControl - Standardized and smart control of municipal energy systems
The aim of the project is to develop a standardized and easy-to-implement procedure for communication, monitoring and control of decentralized technologies within municipal energy communities. Therefore, innovative interfaces and self-learning algorithms will be developed, which will ensure that the concept can be transferred to municipalities or neighborhoods without a great deal of data and measurement effort.

LessIsMore - Energy efficient human centric lighting by innovative components and daylight integration
Human Centric Lighting (HCL) is focused on the positive visual and non-visual (biological) effects of light on humans, but is wasting energy by the inefficient use of components and daylight. In LessIsMore an exemplary pilot installation will be developed and evaluated.
Digital Twin / Building Tracker - Coupling of building simulation with a physical building in real time
The goal of the project ist o couple an office building during operation with its virtual twin, the "building tracker", which will be developed and applied for the first time within the project. Thanks to coupling of monitoring and simulation, innovative building energy management of nearly zero-energy building is possible.
Energy-Sponge: The Building as an Energy-Sponge - Electricity In - Heat Out
Innovative, dynamic control concepts had been developed which enable (air) heat pumps in combination with PV- or renewable grid electricity to use the building mass of a multi-familiy house as heat storage. User acceptance had been evaluated and possible business models had been developed.
