IEA PVPS Task 17: Photovoltaik for Transport (working period 2018 - 2021)
The IEA PVPS Task 17 focuses on the potential contributions of PV technologies to the transport sector as well as on the expected market potential of PV application in the transport sector.
Short Description
The main purpose of the IEA PVPS Task 17 is to establish the use of PV in the transport sector in order to reduce the CO2 emissions in this sector and to facilitate the expansion of the PV market.
In order to attain this purpose, the IEA PVPS Task 17 pursues the following objectives:
- Analysis of the expected / possible benefits and requirements for the direct integration of PV in vehicle surfaces
- Identification of barriers and solutions to meet the requirements for an active role of PV in the transport sector
- Best practice for a charging infrastructure with PV
- Assessment of the potential contribution of PV to the transport sector
The outcome of the IEA PVPS Task 17 is to point out the potential of the use of PV in transportation and to submit proposals for the implementation of concepts.
