Developments in fluidised bed combustion technology (Wu, 05-2006)

Fluidised bed combustion (FBC) has good fuel flexibility and lower emissions compared to conventional combustion systems. It has been increasingly used for power generation and industrial boilers. During the past decades, FBC technology has undergone considerable developments towards improved performance and lower capital costs. This report reviews critically the recent technological developments and commercial applications of FBC systems worldwide, assesses the technical and environmental performances of FBC systems, identifies future technological developments, and predicts future market trends.
