5th Expert Meeting of IEA ES Task 39 - Large Thermal Energy Storages for District Heating
Organizer
AEE INTEC supported and hosted by the local company Aalborg CSP.
Content Description
Large-scale thermal energy storages make it possible to increase the use of renewables in existing energy supply systems, achieve supply independence and security, and enable the coupling of individual energy sectors, for example through Power2Heat solutions.
In four subtasks (ST), the international experts will address the following issues:
- ST A: Application scenarios, assessment of concepts and integration aspects
- ST B: Components and material database
- ST C: Round robin simulations
- ST D: Knowledge base for decision makers
AEE - Institute for Sustainable Technologies (AEE INTEC) was founded in 1988 and is today one of the leading European institutes for applied research in the field of renewable energy and resource efficiency. In the three target group areas "Buildings", "Cities & Networks" and "Industrial Systems" as well as three technological working groups "Renewable Energies", "Thermal Storages" and "Water and Process Technologies", the range of R&D projects carried out extends from basic research projects to the implementation of demonstration plants.
Program
The program of the Task 39 meeting will be two days of discussion along the Subtasks of the Task 39 and an excursion to the pit thermal energy storage in Dronninglund.
More information can be found in the tables (see downloads).
