4th International Sustainable Energy Conference for Renewable Heating and Cooling in Integrated Urban and Industrial Energy Systems. ISEC 2026 sees itself as a driving force for innovative ideas for research, business, energy policy and global cooperation.

ISEC 2026 will provide an international platform for exchange among researchers, energy policymakers and businesses to swiftly and effectively leverage the opportunities arising from the UN Climate Conferences, the SDG Goals, and European agreements (Green Deal, Fit for 55). The aim is to translate these into actionable strategies through the collaboration of research institutions and companies in the energy and resource sectors.

Over the three conference days, ISEC 2026 will focus on various thematic areas, such as the "Role of the Heating Sector and Energy Efficiency" in an interconnected sustainable energy system, as well as "Research and Innovation in Energy Transition, Circular Economy, and Climate-Neutral Cities".

Call for Abstracts

The focus of ISEC 2026 will be on how we can achieve energy sovereignty within a time horizon dictated by climate change and defined by politics.

Central topics will include the transformation of our economic system towards a sustainable circular economy, the complete phase-out of fossil fuels, and the implementation of sector coupling, energy storage systems, and smart electrification.

Special attention will be given to the ongoing transformation of energy infrastructure and urban energy systems as a key element of the energy transition. In this context, continued research and innovation, as well as the specific challenges and opportunities in the Global South, will be essential and the focus of the conference.

The Call will be open from 1. June - 31. August 2025.
